Board of Directors Election & 2019 Mission and Ministry Budget Vote Sunday, December 9 and Monday, December 10 Each year, St. Andrew elects three new members to our Board of Directors from a slate of candidates proposed after prayer and discernment by the Board's Nominating Committee. The candidates for 2019 are Mitch Glazier, Steve Olson & Saba Tesfayohannes, who will be new to the board, and Kim Bolton, an incumbent member eligible for re-election. Candidates will be in the Commons on December 2 & 3 to meet and greet members and friends after services. Please stop by to say hello! Kim Bolton moved to Montgomery County in 1984 at age 12, at which time her family joined St. Andrew. Kim attends 11:00 worship and currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors and as Chair of the Financial Education Team. Professionally, Kim is the Executive Director of Communications & Planning for the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, where she oversees strategic communications to Congress and the White House on health care policy. Kim is a huge sports fan, loves music and dancing, and is strongly committed to serving others. Mitch Glazier and his wife, Carly, have been members of St. Andrew since 1996. Their sons, Grant and Logan, were both confirmed here. Grant can sometimes be seen playing piano/keyboards and performing vocals in the praise band, and Logan can be heard singing as part of Exalt! Mitch is a firstyear Sunday morning Confirmation teacher and Chair of the Above and Beyond Gift Program. He previously served on the Beyond These Walls Capital Campaign Committee. Mitch has a law degree from Vanderbilt University and is President of the Recording Industry Association of America, the trade body that represents the major record labels in the U.S. His hobbies include running, reading, hanging out with family and listening to lots and lots of music. Steve Olson and his wife, Laura, have been members of St. Andrew since 2009 when they were seeking a great confirmation program for their son, Matt. Looking back, he feels they could not have found a better church home for the whole family. Steve and Laura attend 11:00 worship and serve as greeters; Steve also serves in Stewardship Ministry. Matt is now a senior at the University of Arizona-Tucson, but loves to come back for worship whenever he is in town. Professionally, Steve is Senior Vice President of Government Affairs for the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. He enjoys playing softball on Capitol Hill and annual fossil hunting excursions in Wyoming. Saba Tesfayohannes has been a member of St. Andrew since 2013. She attends 11:00 worship with her adult children, daughter, Nighisti and son, Bini and his wife, Karen. Originally from Ethiopia, her heritage is Eritrean. Saba has worked for Montgomery County Public Schools for 22 years as a special education instructional assistant, currently at Rockville High School. She is a member of the Global Mission Team and frequent participant at Common Ground. A gourmet cook and baker, Saba entered the Soup Showdown, but didn t win yet.
