The kingdom of Christ is a kingdom of justice, love and peace... to reign as He does means to serve God and the brethren a service that flows from love: to serve for love s sake is to reign: this is the regality of Jesus. 2017 FINANCIAL REPORT SUMMARY From Father Phil My Dear Parishioners and Friends of St. Theresa, T his 2017 Financial Report Summary was prepared by Tom Valore, the chairperson of St. Theresa Church Finance Council. The Financial Report as shown in last week's bulletin highlights the 2017-2018 fiscal budget for Church, School, and ECC (Early Childhood Center) with comparisons to last year's actual finances and budget. The fiscal year runs from July 2017 through June 2018. The report also includes two pages of pie-charts to better comprehend the key components of expenses and revenues. This is an important and somewhat delicate financial year for St. Theresa's due to the capital building projects for both Church and School. Although funding of capital expenses are provided for in a separate budget, there are temporary changes in processes and services (such as moving masses to the school gym) that will add to expenses through the year. Please note that although both expenses and revenues are higher for the school (due to increased enrollment), tuition revenue should offset additional expenses, balancing the school budget. The Church budget also includes somewhat higher revenue and expenses and a relatively small loss for the year, however this should not be a concern. We fully expect that increased stewardship collections, fundraising and additional contributions will offset the increased expenses. Also, please note that the funds shown as Church Special Items includes the net proceeds from the annual gala. It is important that all parishioners remain vigilant in their regular stewardship contributions, use of time and talent when possible and contributions to the Capital Campaign. This will ensure that our budget targets will be met and we will have a smooth transition through this construction period. If you have any question please feel free to contact Cherie Hernandez at c.hernandez@sttheresa.cc or at 713-869-3783 ext. 305. Cherie is our Operations and Finance Director. In true appreciation, Fr. Phil Lloyd

Phil Lloyd
