Membership Invitation If you are ready to join the Oakton Church of the Brethren we are eager to receive you into membership through reaffirmation of faith, transfer of letter, or baptism. We will be receiving several people into membership on Easter morning and encourage you let Pastor Chris know if you wish to join on Easter or at a later date. One Great Hour of Sharing One Great Hour of Sharing is an opportunity for us, as a congregation, to support Church of the Brethren ministries that shat share God s love through service. Gifts to this offering help to feed the hungry, empower the vulnerable, and shelter the homeless after disasters. They also support Brethren Volunteer Service, the workcamp ministry, international partnerships, and many other life-changing ministries of the Church of the Brethren. Embrace the joy that comes with sharing! Nigeria Compassion Fund Those who wish to support our Nigerian Church of the Brethren (EYN) brothers and sisters as they endure the violence in their country which has left over 150 church members dead and countless properties destroyed can designate such offerings: "EYN Compassion Fund" or, simply, "Nigeria." April Newsletter The next issue of our newsletter is almost ready to print! Get your article and/or pictures in by tomorrow, March 18 th, to make it into this upcoming issue! Announcements, continued The New Inglenook Cookbook Brethren Press will release The New Inglenook Cookbook this summer. Our youth are giving you the chance to pre-order the book at a reduced price while supporting the junior and senior high youth funds! (These help send kids to national conferences and other events). The cookbook's list price will be $28 and if you pre-ordered one copy, you would end up paying over $34 including postage. The youth are offering the books for $24 including delivery to the church. Orders MUST be received by Sunday, April 14th, with payment. (Cash or check made out to Oakton Church of the Brethren, marked Inglenook Cookbook). Please attach a note with your name, preferred contact information (phone number or e-mail address) and the number of cookbooks. Enjoy some delicious new recipes and support our youth!
