Before kids arrive, pray for each regular attendee by name. Pray for those who might visit your group for the first time. Ask God to bring the big concept of heaven down into your kids world. Ask Him to guide today s conversation with your few, focusing on how He knows the end of the story and He s prepared an awesome place for all believers. Pray that your few would be encouraged to keep going because God knows the end of their story. That s My Story What You Need: No supplies needed What You Do: Tell your few that you need some help making up a super awesome story! Explain that you ll go around in a circle, with each person adding one sentence to the story and finishing with: and then. Then it s the next person s turn to add something! Give them an example: o One day I went to the grocery store and bought some carrots and ranch dressing and then o I decided that I really wanted to go to the park so I could swing on the swings and then o I met a prince there who was walking his dog and then o he asked me for directions and then o I decided that I would go buy something fancy at the store since I just met a royal prince! What You Say: You all came up with some really cool and interesting stories! We had no idea what the story was going to become, but it ended up being pretty awesome! [Transition] Today we are going to learn about someone who knows the end of every story! Lead your group to the Large Group area. 2

On three, I want everyone to shout out their name. One, two, three! (Hold hand to ear.) Awesome! I m so glad you decided to hang out with us today in The Treehouse. In fact, I m so glad, I think we should all give ourselves a pat on the back for being here. Look at your neighbor and say, Thanks for coming. HOST and KIDS: (Pat your own back.) Thanks for coming! HOST: Not look at your neighbor and say Up on your feet It s time to sing! Go! It is time to sing, so help me get the power praise team in here. Worship POWER PRAISE: Yeah, we love singing and praising our amazing God with all of you. This song is about shining the light of God as we live our lives following Jesus. He is the way. Let s sing! SFX: We Shine We give all we are to go your way Jesus. Psalm 90:2 says: Before you created the whole world and the mountains were made, from the beginning to the end you are God (NIrV). Our God is forever. From beginning to end we can believe in Him and every word He says is true. Let s lift up this song of worship to sing what we believe and because we believe, we have faith. SFX: Walk By Faith This last song is an opportunity for us to just slow down and pray to the Lord. Just clear your mind of whatever is causing it to feel like an ocean and just focus in on God and His great love for us. 4

SFX: Oceans Awesome job everyone! Have a fun last week of school and we will see you in the Fort next week! Power Praise exits. HOST: Today is not just any other day, you know. This is the last Sunday that we will have you here in The Treehouse. Next week you all will be in the Fort as First Graders!!! Today is also our LAST day this month to talk about determination together. That s been our Life App for the last few weeks, and it s been amaaaazing. Let s read the definition of determination together. Ready? CG: Determination Slide HOST and KIDS: Determination is deciding it s worth it to finish what you started. HOST: That s right. Now let s see what our video has to say about determination. CG: 252 Intro Video Host joins the audience. Historyteller enters. SETTING UP THE BIBLE TRUTH HISTORYTELLER: Hey, everybody! It s me, [Historyteller s name], and today we ve got an incredible, cool, almost-unbelievable Bible Truth to talk about. And the best part is it s all true because it s from the Bible. In fact, today s Bible Truth is from the very last book in the Bible. Does anyone know what the last book in the Bible is? (Pause for response.) Revelation. That s right. Does anyone know what the word revelation means? A revelation is something that is revealed to us to explain something we didn t already know. The book of Revelation in the Bible is God s way of revealing to us what s going to happen in the future. And the person He used to write that book is a man named John. CG: 252 Story WRAPPING UP THE BIBLE TRUTH HISTORYTELLER: You know, John wasn t exactly sure what to make of everything he saw in his vision. And to be honest, no one knows exactly what heaven is going to be like. But John knew one thing for sure: God was going to make everything right and good in the end. And for those of us who put our trust in Him, we will get to live in heaven, and it will be breathtaking, perfect, and whole. Since we are God s friends forever, when life gets hard, we can remember how all of our stories are going to end. We are going to live forever with God in a place where there is no more sadness or pain, where everything that is broken is fixed, where we are with God and feel His love all of the time. CG: Bottom Line Slide 5

So when life gets hard, we can [Bottom Line] keep going because God knows the end of the story. That s our Bottom Line for today! Can you read it with me? HISTORYTELLER and KIDS: [Bottom Line] Keep going because God knows the end of the story. HISTORYTELLER: John s vision was filled with many wonderful and strange and beautiful and confusing things, but one thing is certain: God was there with His people and everything was good. So whenever you re worried about what s going to happen maybe with your parents, with a friend, or with your grades just know that you can show determination, you can keep going, because God is with you, God loves you, and God knows the end of EVERY story. Pray HISTORYTELLER: God, You are a good God with good plans for our lives. Thank You that You have written the end of our stories, and it is a great ending. Help us to remember how You are going to make all things right and good forever. When life gets hard, help us to remember that it won t always be hard, because one day You are going to make all things right. Help us to be encouraged by the end of our stories that You ve written and help us to have determination to press on no matter what. We love You and we ask these things in Jesus name, amen! Raise your hand if you have an offering today and we will bring the bucket over to you. Historyteller exits as Host enters. Closer HOST: Wow! That s amazing, right?! All year, we ve been looking at stories from God s One Big Story the one He s been writing since the very beginning of time. And in the beginning I mean the very beginning God created a man and woman named Adam and Eve. They had it made! They lived in a perfect garden and had everything they needed. But then they broke God s rule and it went downhill from there. The ground was cursed. People were cursed. People could get sick. People could get hurt. People could die. Because of Adam and Eve s one mistake, life became a maze of confusion and pain. And that continues even today. Our hearts get broken, parents get divorced, and people we care about pass away. Sometimes it can feel like the hard times will never end. But today we discovered there WILL be an end to all of that! God gave John a peek into what it s going to be like at the end of the story. And it s going to be better than you or I can imagine. That s why we can keep going. Our memory verse reminds us of that. CG: Memory Verse Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9, NIV 6

Because whenever we get sick, or whenever we get hurt, or whenever we re sad or angry or jealous or ashamed, we know that it s all just temporary. It s not going to last forever. Someday God is going to bring an end to all of it. That s the one thing to remember today. CG: Bottom Line Slide [Bottom Line] Keep going because God knows the end of the story. So this week, let s all keep going and doing the right things. I can t wait to see all of the amazing things that are going to come from you guys when you show determination! Have a great time in Prayer Group, and we ll see you next week for a brand new Life App! CG: Prayer Group Slide Dismiss children to their Prayer Groups. 7

Pray and Dismiss (10 minutes) What You Need: Paper, crayons What You Do: Ask kids what they like about the home they live in. What are their favorite toys there? What do they like about their room? Do they have a cool or unique bed? (Be aware of and sensitive to kids who might struggle to find something they like about their home, or kids who are in temporary housing situations.) Then ask kids to think about what they d have in their house if they could pick anything in the world! Would they have a roller coaster? Would they have a McDonald s or an ice cream place there? What would their room be like? Maybe a giant TV with any movie they could want and four different gaming systems? After a few kids have shared ideas, give each kid a piece of paper. Give them about 10 minutes (or as interest allows) to draw their dream house. Encourage them to include all the fun details the group just talked about. Remind your few that God knows the end of EVERY story even their own! Tell them that God has amazing plans for them on earth and that He loves us so much that He also prepared a place for them in heaven one day! As kids hold their pictures and dream of what heaven might be like, close the group in prayer. What You Say: We have some crazy good imaginations in this group. But I have something even crazier to tell you! Your dream houses don t even come close to how amazing heaven is. That s right. Heaven is better than your Barbie dream home, or an entire lair made out of LEGOs, or even Batman s cave. Remember what our Bible Truth told us today? In heaven there will be no more pain or hurt. I don t think I could even dream up something that cool. But what I do know is that the thought of heaven helps me have determination when I m still here on this earth. I choose to set that as my goal and can [Bottom Line] keep going because God knows the end of the story. Let me pray for us. God, I can t believe that You have huge and awesome plans for all of us to do on this earth! I pray that You help us make every single one of them happen so that we can tell everyone how amazing You are! I know that sometimes things in life can get hard. School can be challenging, sisters and brothers can be hard to get along with, and friends can be hard to make, but I pray today that we all would be confident in knowing that we can [Bottom Line] keep going because God knows the end of the story. Pass out Parent CUE cards as adults arrive for pick-up. 8
