Mt. Hope United Church of Christ at Worship Mother s Day Seventh Sunday of Easter What Is Unconditional Love? May 8, 2016 Silent Reflection: We take this day to honor our mothers. What difference did your mother make to you? *Prelude Bring In The Light Welcome and Announcements *Choral Call to Worship In Moments Like These *Congregational Call to Worship: Leader: We gather to honor what motherhood stands for. People: We honor motherhood and remember what it s supposed to be all about. Leader: Care, comfort, and unconditional love are what motherhood represents. We honor those things and those who live them as we celebrate together today. Prayer of Remembrance (In Unison): On this day we remember. We take seriously what motherhood is supposed to be. We take seriously the difference a true mother can make in the life of a child. We remember the difference our mothers made and understand how they shaped our lives to make us who we are today. We remember our own responsibilities to the younger people in our lives and pray that we are good examples of what the concept of motherhood can mean to them. May we remember and live in a way that really makes a difference. For the sake of Jesus message and ministry we pray. Amen. *Hymn # 14 (Praise and Worship notebook) Blessings Special Presentations Elizabeth Craft Passing the Peace Children s Moment Mother s Day Presentations Tammy Chapmon Prayers of the People A Pastoral Prayer The Lord s Prayer (debts) Dedication of our Gifts, Tithes and Offerings to God Offertory Doxology Give Thanks Prayer of Dedication Reading of the Old Testament Ruth 1: 7-18 Judy Gerner Anthem At Home, Let There Be Love Reading of the Scripture 2 Timothy 1: 5-7 Tim Hucks Sermon *Hymn # 1 (GH) *Benediction For the Beauty of the Earth Rev.
