Morning Prayer - Longing for God Bell is rung at 8:55 am A candle is lit - we pause to settle into silence Denotes a change of reader as we read around the room You may make the sign of the Cross should you wish All: We meet together in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit At the start of this day we present ourselves to God knowing that He is eager to receive us and encircle us in His love. Psalm 63 O Lord you are my God Earnestly I seek you My soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you In a dry and weary land where there is no water I have seen you in the sanctuary And beheld your power and glory Because your love is better than life My lips will glorify you I will praise you as long as I will live In your name I will lift my hands My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods With singing lips my mouth will praise you. Sung or said: (or an alternative song or time of sung worship) Oh, come let us adore Him, Oh, come let us adore Him Oh, come let us adore Him Christ the Lord For He alone is worthy, For He alone is worthy For He alone is worthy, Christ the Lord We give You all the glory, We give You all the glory We give You all the glory, Christ the Lord (Time of open praise, sung or said, or scripture verse may be brought) O God we honour you, we lift up your name upon this place and proclaim Jesus is Lord! We ask Him, that with both feet planted firmly on love, you will be able to take in with all followers of Jesus the extravagant dimensions of Christ s love. We pray that you may reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights! Live full lives, full in the fullness of God. God can do anything far more than you could ever imagine, guess or request in your wildest dreams! He will do it by his Spirit working within you deeply and gently. Receive the blessing from this house upon you and for your families. Amen. Jesus asks: Do you love me? Yes, Lord, you know I love you. Then feed my lambs 4

Jesus asks: Do you love me? Yes, Lord, you know I love you. Take care of my sheep Jesus asks; Do you love me? Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you. Then feed my sheep. The Acorn Prayer: All: Lord look upon this work. Grant to your servants to preach your word with all boldness while you stretch out Your hand to heal and signs and wonders are performed in Your holy name Jesus. Amen. Silence Candle is extinguished Even though this candle is extinguished yet the word of God remains with us all. Healing scriptures for each day of the month 1. Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. 2. James 5:14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 3. Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 4. Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus 5. Proverbs 4: 20-22 My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one s whole body. 6. Psalm 107:19-21 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave. Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind. 7. Exodus 23:25 Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you. 8. Psalm 30:2 Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me. 8

9. Isaiah 53:4-5 Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. 10. Psalm 103; 2-4 Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion. 11. Psalm 41: 2-3 The Lord protects and preserves them they are counted among the blessed in the land he does not give them over to the desire of their foes. The Lord sustains them on their sickbed and restores them from their bed of illness. 12. Psalm 147:3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. 13. Jeremiah 17:14 Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise. 14. Matthew 8:5-8,13 When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help. Lord, he said, my servant lies at home paralyzed, suffering terribly. Jesus said to him, Shall I come and heal him? The centurion replied, Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed. Jesus said to the centurion, Go! Let it be done just as you believed it would. And his servant was healed at that moment. 15. Matthew 8:14-15 When Jesus came into Peter s house, he saw Peter s mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever. He touched her hand and the fever left her, and she got up and began to wait on him. 16. Matthew 8:16 When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick. 17. Matthew 9:35 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. 18.Psalm 28: 7-9 The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. The Lord is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one. Save your people and bless your inheritance; be their shepherd and carry them forever. 19. Luke 8:43-48 And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her. She came up behind him and touched 9

the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped. Who touched me? Jesus asked. When they all denied it, Peter said, Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you. But Jesus said, Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me. Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. Then he said to her, Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace. 20. Luke 8:49-55 While Jesus was still speaking, someone came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader. Your daughter is dead, he said. Don t bother the teacher anymore. Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, Don t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed. When he arrived at the house of Jairus, he did not let anyone go in with him except Peter, John and James, and the child s father and mother. Meanwhile, all the people were wailing and mourning for her. Stop wailing, Jesus said. She is not dead but asleep. They laughed at him, knowing that she was dead. But he took her by the hand and said, My child, get up! Her spirit returned, and at once she stood up. Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat. 21. Revelation 21:4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. 22. 1 Peter 2:24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. 23. James 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. 24. Jeremiah 33:6 Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security. 25. Matthew 10:1 Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness. 26. Matthew 10:8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give. 10

27. Matthew 14:14 When he went ashore he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick. 28. Acts 28:7-9 There was an estate nearby that belonged to Publius, the chief official of the island (Malta). He welcomed us to his home and showed us generous hospitality for three days. His father was sick in bed, suffering from fever and dysentery. Paul went in to see him and, after prayer, placed his hands on him and healed him. When this had happened, the rest of the sick on the island came and were cured. 29. Hebrews 4:16 Let us then approach God s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. 30. Psalm 23:1-3 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. 31. Psalm 91:1-4Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. 11

Evening prayer - completion Bell is rung at 4.40pm Candle is lit - we pause to settle into silence All: We meet together in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit Psalm 51:15 Open thou my lips All: and my mouth shall proclaim your praise All: Said or sung: (or an alternative song) From the rising of the sun To the going down of the same The Lord's name is to be praised or Praise ye the Lord Praise Him all ye servants of the Lord Praise the name of the Lord Blessed be the name of the Lord From this time forth and forever more Thank you Lord as evening falls That you never slumber nor sleep; Your eyes rest on us with delight, love and grace This day we have walked and talked with you and have lived in the light of your love. We celebrate all we have achieved today We consider all those you have impacted through us today and all you have revealed to us of yourself today We particularly thank you for (name stories, testimonies, delights) Thank you, Lord, for...(each person may bring thanksgiving as they wish) Help us Lord not to carry the burden of tasks unfinished or words unspoken. (pause) May we find the time and opportunity to fulfil all that is necessary, another day. 12

All: Thank you Lord that I am your child You accept me just as I am You know my heart and you love me Scripture: Psalm 139 (each person reads a verse) 1. You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. 2. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. 3. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. 4. Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely. 5. You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. 6. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. 7. Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? 8. If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. 9. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, 10. even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. 11. If I say, Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me, 12. even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. 13. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother s womb. 14. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. 16. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. 17. How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! 18. Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand when I awake, I am still with you. 23. Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. 13

The Blessing, (Numbers 6:24-26) said to each other: The LORD bless you and keep you; The LORD make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; The LORD lift up His countenance upon you and give you His peace. His Shalom. 'So they shall put my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them'. Numbers 6:27 NRSV In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen Silence, The candle extinguished. Even though this candle is extinguished yet the peace of God remains with us all. 14
