Holy Trinity Catholic Church Parish Office: 207 Glebe Street, Johnstown, N.Y. 12095 Phone: (518) 762-2636 Fax: (518) 762-6920 Rectory: 205 Glebe Street, Johnstown, N.Y. 12095 ~ Phone: (518) 762-2011 Website: www.rcda.org/churches/holytrinityjohnstown Holy Trinity parish was founded in 2003 from a merger of three historic Johnstown Catholic churches: Immaculate Conception Church, founded in 1925; St. Anthony s Church, established in 1914; and St. Patrick s Church, built in 1869. These parishes primarily served the Italian, Slovak and Irish communities respectively. In 2009, St. Patrick s Church was chosen as the single worship site for the Catholic community in the city of Johnstown. Our parish continues to honor and celebrate its immigrant past. It remains a strong and vital Catholic community: proclaiming Christ as Savior, celebrating Catholic faith, serving each other and the community, and educating its young in eternal truths. Holy Trinity parish moves into the future with hope and confidence. Holy Trinity parish is a wonderful and welcoming spiritual home. Served by: Very Rev. Donald Czelusniak, Pastor Rev. Holy Trinity, Johnstown, NY Ten lepers ask Jesus to take pity on them and he heals them. But only the Samaritan leper returns to Jesus, glorifies God, and gives thanks. This leper returns to his Healer to further the fledgling relationship begun with the healing. For this action he received even more than physical healing. He hears Jesus declare to him, Your faith has saved you. This is faith: knowing who we are before God, gratefully coming to God, and ever deepening our relationship with God. And for this we always give thanks. I give thanks when MASS INTENTIONS FOR WEEK OF OCTOBER 13 TH SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION: Saturday from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. or by request. SAT. - 4:30 P.M. Our next series will begin on Wednesday, Oct. 16th @ 7:30 p.m. following Rosary devotion in Church and Thursday, Oct. 17th @ 9:30 a.m. in the Parish Center. Our topic is Papacy. See flyer in the church for further information. Healing Presence When I need a healing, I pray. I pray remembering that within the physical body that gives me shape and substance is a divine presence the spirit of God at the center of my being. I do all that I can to cooperate with the healing activity of God at this time and at all times. Closing my eyes and letting my thoughts move from symptoms and pain to the presence of God within me stimulates the very cells of my body with healing. I envision a powerful, healing light shining within my heart. As that light moves throughout my body, it cleanses my circulatory system and soothes my joints and muscles. Aglow with God s presence, I am healed and refreshed. Great joy rises from the depths of my soul to conform my healing. The presence of God heals and refreshes me. Daily word for families. THE JOHNSTOWN FOOD PANTRY AT ST. JOHN S CHURCH IS IN NEED OF FOOD DONATIONS: The pantry continues to provide food for clients monthly and many local families in need. It is with your donations of non-perishable food items that we are able to continue to do so. At the present time our shelves are getting very low. Some items that we are especially in need of are peanut butter & jelly. Other needed items are cereal, canned fruit, spaghetti sauce, meals in can (stew, ravioli, spaghetti, etc.) or boxed dinners (hamburger/tuna helper, etc). Plastic and cans are preferable over glass jars. Monetary donations are greatly appreciated. The Food Pantry is open every Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon for anyone who is in need.
