Ginzler-Maher EXECUTIVE HEADTEACHER Remembrance Day - November is a time when we remember all the departed, especially family members and friends. It is also a time of national remembrance, when we recall those who have died for our country in wars, in the cause of peace. Attached to the newsletter is the outline of a poppy. If you would like the names of deceased family members or friends to be remembered during the school assembly, write their names on the poppy and ask your child to colour it in or decorate it and return to school by Wednesday 7th November. There are spare poppy pictures in the school office. The Remembrance Assembly is a short service on Friday 9th November. Mrs Peear, the Head Boy and Head Girl will also be attending the Remembrance Parade at All Saints Church at 10.30 a.m. on Sunday 11th November to lay a remembrance wreath. They shall not grow old as we who are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them. Please continue to pray for all those in our school community in need of our prayers. Remembrance Day poppies are available at the office and will be taken round to the classrooms - please give generously.

(Mark 12:28-34): The Great Commandment One of the scribes came up to Jesus and put a question to him, Which is the first of all the commandments? Jesus replied, This is the first: Listen, Israel, the Lord our God is the one Lord, and you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: You must love your neighbour as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these. The scribe said to him, Well spoken, Master; what you have said is true: that he is one and there is no other. To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and strength and to love your neighbour as yourself, this is far more important than any holocaust or sacrifice. Jesus, seeing how wisely he had spoken said, You are not far from the kingdom of God. And after that no one dared to question him anymore. Be safe on Bonfire Night and follow the Firework Code
