Wih eyebrows raised in confusion, he answered, Why would I hrow my ooh on he roof? I old him I ofen read a sory o my classes abou differen cusoms around he world regarding baby eeh, losing hem, geing new ones and visis from he ooh fairy. He shook his head, added a verbal no, and said he would probably jus pu i under his pillow. Are you going o use my peanu buer and jelly pillow? was my follow-up quesion, wondering if some of my childhood belongings would finally be pu o use again. When I was younger, I had a round purple pillow wih ruffles around he edge, especially for he ooh fairy. The wo suffed dolls, Peanu Buer and Jelly, came ou of he big pocke o play, and a smaller pocke was marked for he eeh. As I sudy he backyard, I see myself hrough differen sages of my life lived upon he land he young child who ran and played and he girl who walked across he yard afer geing off he school bus. I see he eenager who sa wih her friends as hey learned who hey were and who hey dreamed of becoming. I see he young woman who emerged from hese experiences and he dreams ha did no come o fruiion-and hose ha blossomed in amazing and unexpeced ways. I see a woman approaching middle age who boh canno comprehend where he ime wen and ye savors he power and beauy of all he years graciously given. I see graiude and joy.
