GREATER DAYTON CORVETTE CLUB (GDCC) Minutes February 16, 2011 President Freddie Haugh called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. Thirty-four members were present. ANNOUNCEMENTS/GUESTS The following guests were welcomed to the meeting: David DuBois and his fiancée Cathy. David owns a Daytona sunset orange Z-51 2007 Corvette; Donald Rouff owner of a silver 1981 Corvette; and former member David Manges owner of dark red metallic 1995, a white 2001, and a Z-06 2004 Corvettes. SECRETARY REPORT Pat Frymyer moved the minutes from the January meeting be accepted as written. Seconded by Mike Jones. TREASURER S REPORT Reported by Herb Smith PRESIDENT S REPORT Freddie thanked Don and Sharon Pennell for hosting the Valentine s Dinner at Old Hickory. Retha Tirpack s birthday is February 24 and Freddie thought it would be great if we all could send Retha a birthday card. Freddie will send Retha s address through a GDCC mailing. VICE PRESIDENT S REPORT No report. COMMITTEE REPORTS SOCIAL Freddie recapped the following for Marsha Woolery: February 20: Daytona party at Mark and Connie Shank at 12:00 p.m. Race starts at 1:00 p.m. Connie will provide chili and pop. Bring a dish to share and your choice of beverage if other than pop.

March 19: Barb and Scott Etherington are arranging a dinner out at Harrison s, Tipp City. Time is 6:30 p.m. June 3-5: Amish Trip arranged by Don and Sharon Pennell. Let Sharon know if you are planning to make the trip. Reservations can be made at the Comfort Inn, Millersburg OH, 330-674-7400. The reservations are made under GDCC. Cost of a room is $89.99 per night ($101.25 including taxes). Judy 9: Summer cookout at Don and Sharon Pennell. More information to follow. September 16-18: Mid-America Funfest in Effingham IL. To reserve a room at the Comfort Inn in Casey IL, call 217-932-2212. Mike Jones indicated that registration is open on the Mid-America website, club parking is $25.00, and the Saturday night buffet is $8.00. MEMBERSHIP Judy Smith reported that we have 96 members. Judy also sent cards to Retha Tirpack and Nancy Lane. Due to health issues, John and Suann Muller are not renewing their membership to the Club. PUBLIC RELATIONS Herb Smith reported for Don Pennell that Dale Clark from Tack It Up Motor Sports will be at the March meeting to discuss the services offered by their company. Herb also indicated that Don received an e-mail from the Kettering at Home Parade committee about GDCC s participation for their Labor Day Parade. A vote was taken and the consensus was for GDCC to participate. NEWSLETTER No report. NCM AMBASSADOR Jerry Schlatter reported that information he receives from the National Corvette Museum is forwarded to Bruce Richenbach for further distribution. Jerry stated that the Museum sponsors a 4 day event in October that travels throughout the state of Kentucky and is led by the Kentucky State Police. He will obtain more information about the event to pass on to club members. The C5/C6 Bash is scheduled for mid-april at the Museum. WEBMASTER No report.

OLD BUSINESS Freddie stated that an E-Board meeting will occur on February 22 to discuss changing the month of the Club s annual awards banquet and what should be posted on the GDCC website. NEW BUSINESS Dean Tavener has a friend who will transfer a picture of your car and the GDCC logo to T-shirts. The cotton T-shirts are made by Guilden, cost $15.00, and come in the colors of white, light gray, and dark gray. If you would like to order a T-shirt, bring a photo of your car to the March meeting. Freddie stated that she sent Aunt Addie s Embroidery a letter asking what the problem is with applying certain Corvette s on jackets. Until this gets resolved, do not order any jackets. Mark Shank stated that he received a flyer from Walt Barner (D.J. for GDCC s past car shows and awards banquets) about a Sock Hop, Saturday, April 2, 2011 from 7:30 10-30 p.m., at the Dayton Masonic Center Ballroom, 535 W. Riverview Ave., Dayton. Proceeds benefit the Children s Dyslexia Center. Debbie Vanscoy cautioned those members who went on the cruise to doublecheck their credit card bills. They were victims of credit card fraud with purchases made before and on the cruise. 50/50 Drawing won by Robin Clark: $37.00. Meeting Adjourned. Respectively submitted, Terri Kopa
