Objective: To teach the children that God expects them to be thankful all the time.

PRESCHOOL (3-5 YEARS) & ELEMENTARY/ PRETEENS (6-12 YEARS) Theme: THANKSGIVING! Bible Reference: Psalm 95:1-7 Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Interest Builder: Teacher Sing: Sinach's He Did It Again It is coming from my heart, praise, and thanks unto You Lord For all the things that You have done I'm grateful for Your love, I give You the praise (2 times) I'm counting my blessings I just can't keep it to myself When I thought that He had done too much oh-oh-oh Jesus did it again. (2 times) (Sing with I clap x4) (Sing with I shout x 4) When I thought that He had done too much oh-oh-oh Jesus did it again Rejoice and praise the Lord Rejoice and praise the Lord Rejoice and praise the Lord Rejoice and praise the Lord I can't tell it enough oh-oh-oh-oh I shout it loud from the mountain top I can't tell it enough oh oh-oh-oh I shout it loud from the mountain top (REPEAT ONCE MORE) I dance and praise the Lord I dance and praise the Lord I dance and praise the Lord I dance and praise the Lord. Bible Lesson: When I thought that He had done too much oh-oh-oh Jesus did it again I can't tell it enough oh oh-oh-oh I shout it loud from the mountain top I can't tell it enough oh oh-oh-oh I shout it loud from the mountain top Give Him the praise It is good to give thanks unto the Lord for He is God and He's king also. Another word for thanksgiving is Eucharistia. In the first six months of the year in the year of the supernatural, you'd find that the Lord has been so gracious and kind; His love, mercy, and grace have seen us through a very remarkable half year. God blessed your dad and mum with good things in life; clothings, food, money, good health etc even some of us had new babies born into our families. There s so much to be thankful for indeed. Therefore, in celebrating all that God has done for you, there are four important things to do in your gratitude and appreciation. 1

1- Your Prayer of Thanksgiving. From the dept of your heart to the Lord, pray and thank Him, appreciating Him for a most successful half year. 2- Your Worship & Praise of Thanksgiving. Give Him praise and thanks for all He has done and all He is to you. 3 - Your Testimony of Thanksgiving. Tell others about what He's done in your life. Here, you're not thinking about what you seemingly didn't get, you're grateful for the joy of the Lord that's in your heart. You're thankful for daddy and mummy, your siblings, friends, teachers, neighbours and for the faith that God gave you! You're thankful for the hope in your tomorrow. If He has been faithful this far then He will see you to the end of the year. 4 - Your Offering of Thanksgiving. Bring a special Thanksgiving offering to His altar, and plan yourself into the greater future He's planned for you. Make your mark in thanking Him specially, and be joyful throughout the day. Carry the atmosphere of thanksgiving with you, from home to Church. At chosen times of the day, have praise and thanksgiving sessions on your own, or with your family. Make it an entire day of praise and thanks. God bless you. Memory Verse: Psalm 95:2 (NIV) Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song Teacher: Please lead the children in this simple prayer; Confession/Prayer: (3-5 Years) Dear God, thank you for my friends and family. I love you Lord (6-12 Years) Dear God, thank you for my friends and family. As we gather together to celebrate Thanksgiving. Help us to continually be thankful for the deep love that you have for us. We love you LORD, Amen. 2
