It is made up of three sections: 1. Main Concordance 2. Hebrew and Aramaic Dictionary - Old Testament 3. Greek Dictionary - New Testament Step 2 Select a word from your bible. Step 3 Look that word up in the main concordance. You will find all the biblical references of that word in the bible.
Slide 16 How To Use A Strong s Concordance Step 4 Select a biblical reference and read the number to the right of the reference. Each context line has three segments: The text of the Scripture in which the reference word appears; the reference to the book, chapter and verse where it may be found; and a reference number to the Hebrew and Greek dictionaries at the back of the concordance. This is the number you need for the dictionaries. Slide 17 How To Use A Strong s Concordance Step 5 If the reference is: from the OT go to the Hebrew dictionary; is in Italic it s from the NT go to the Greek dictionary; there s no number, the word may have been supplied by the translators. Step 6 Look up the number and you will get: 1. the original Hebrew or Greek word 2. an explanation of that word 3. other words the original Hebrew or Greek word has been translated into. Step 7 Lastly enjoy your bible studies. Slide 18 How To Use A Vine s Exp Dictionary Many English words may not accurately describe meaning the author intended Explains KJV meaning of original with the added dimension of context of original Not really keyed to the KJV; it is keyed to the English Version - KJV meaning in parenthesis (AV) There are Three Main Sections: 1.
