(<>) For he said, Surely, they are my people, children that will not lie, so he was their Savior. In all their affliction he was afflicted, (<>) and the angel of his presence saved them. In his love and in his pity he redeemed them, and he bore them and carried them all the days of old. Then he remembered the days of old, Moses, and his people, saying, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? (Psalm 8:4-5) [1.36] O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is your name in all the earth! Who has set your glory above the heavens. When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have ordained; what is man that you are mindful of him? And the Son of Man, that you visit him? For you have made him a little lower than the angels, and have crowned him with glory and honor. (Mark 1:9-26, 28, 34) [2.18] Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized of John in Jordan. Coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him. And there came a voice from heaven, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. [2:44] Immediately, the Spirit drove him into the wilderness, and he was there forty days. Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the Kingdom of God and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe the gospel. As he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea for they were fishers. Jesus said to them, Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men. They forsook their nets and followed him. When he had gone a little further, he saw James and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their nets. He called them, and they left their father in the ship and went after him. They went into Capernaum, and on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue and taught, and they were astonished at his doctrine, for he taught them as one that had authority and not as the scribes. [3:59] There was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit. He cried out, Let us alone! What have we to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? Are you come to destroy us? I know you who you are, the Holy One of God. Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold your peace and come out of him! When the unclean spirit had torn him and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him. Immediately, Jesus fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee. He healed many that were sick of diverse diseases and cast out many devils, and suffered them not to speak, because they knew him.

2 (Mark 2:1-13) [4:38] He entered into Capernaum after some days, and it was known that he was at a house. Many were gathered together, so that there was no room to receive them, and he preached the Word to them. They came to him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was carried by four. [5:25] When they could not come near him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where he was, and they let down the bed on which he lay. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the sick of the palsy, Son, your sins be forgiven you. [5.40] There were certain of the scribes sitting there, reasoning in their hearts. Why does this man speak blasphemies? They said, Who can forgive sins but God only? When Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned, he said to them, Why do you reason these things in your hearts? [6:25] He said, What is easier to say to the sick of the palsy, your sins be forgiven, or to say, arise, take up your bed and walk? But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins, I say to you, take up your bed and go your way to your home. Immediately, he arose, took up the bed and went forth before them all, inasmuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying We never saw it on this fashion. [7:13] He went forth again by the sea side, and all the multitude resorted unto him, and he taught them. (Mark 3:1-8) [7:25] Jesus entered again into the synagogue, and there was a man which had a withered hand. They watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day, that they might accuse him. He said to the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth. He said to them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? To save a life or to kill? But they held their peace. When he had looked on them with anger, being greived for the hardness o f their hearts, he said to the man, Stretch forth your hand, and he stretched it out, and his hand was restored shole as the other. [8:16] The Pharisees went forth and strightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him, but Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea, and a great multitude from Galilee followed him and from Judea, from Jerusalem, and from beyond Jordan. (Mark 8:29-31: 24-36 [10:06] Jesus asked his disciples, Whom do men say that I am? Peter answered, You are the Christ. He charged them that they should tell no man of him, and he began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected of the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and be killed and after three days rise again. Whosoever will save his life shall lose it, but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel s, the same shall save it. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

3 The Second Movement: This Is My Body, This Is My Blood (Mark 11:1-3, 7-10) [:25] When they came nigh to Jerusalem and to the Mount of Olives, he sent forth two of his disciples saying, Go into the village, and as soon as you enter it, you will find a cold tied, whereon never a man has sat. Loose him and bring him, and if any man says, Why do you do this?, say that the Lord has need of him and straightway he will send him hither. [2:00] And they brought the colt to Jesus and cast their garments on him, and he sat upon him. And many spread their garments in the way, and others cut down branches off the trees and strewed them in the way. They that went before, and they that followed cried, Hosanna! Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed be the kingdom of our father, David, who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest! [2:49] theme orchestra only (Mark 11:15-18) [3:46] They came to Jerusalem, and Jesus went into the temple and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple. He overthrew the tables of the money changers and the seats of them that sold doves, and would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple. He taught, saying, Is it not written, my house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? But you have made it a den of thieves. The scribes and chief priests heard it and sought how they might destroy him, for they feared him, because all the people were astonished at his doctrine. (Mark 12:28-31; 14:12-15, 18, 22-28) [4.42] One of the scribes came and asked Jesus, Which is the first commandment of all? Jesus answered, The first of all the commandments is Hear, O Israel, The Lord our God is one Lord. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the first commandment, and the second is like it, namely this, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is none other commandment greater than these. [5:26] On the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the Passover, his disciples said to him, Where shall we go and prepare that we may eat the Passover? [5.36] He said, Go into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water; follow him; and say to him, The Master says where is the guest chamber where I shall eat the Passover with my disciples? He will show you a large upper room, furnished and prepared. There make ready for us. As they sat and ate, Jesus said, Verily, I say to you, one of you who eats with me shall betray me. [6.11] As they ate, Jesus took bread and blessed and broke it, and gave it to them and said, Take, eat, this is my body. And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, and they all drank of it.

[6:36] This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many. Verily, I say to you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God. [7:58] And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the mount of Olives. [8:38] Jesus said to them, All of you shall be offended because of me this night, for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered. But after I am risen, I will go before you into Galilee. (14:41b, 43, 48-50, 55, 58, 61-62, 64-65) [9:15] The hour is come. Behold, the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. Immediately, while he spoke, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves from the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders. Jesus said to them, Are you come out as against a thief with swords and staves to take me? I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and you took me not, but the Scriptures must be fulfilled. And they all forsook him and fled. The chief priests and all the council sought for witnesses against Jesus to put him to death and found none. [10:11] They said, We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, < and within three days I will build another made without hands. The high priest asked him, Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? Jesus said, I am, and you shall see the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of power and coming in the clouds of heaven. [10:52] The high priest said, You have heard the blasphemy! What do you think? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death. The Third Movement: I Will Sing Praise To My God As Long As I Live (Psalm 146:1-2) [.18] Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, oh, my soul! While I live will I praise the Lord. I will sing praises to my God while I have my being! (3-10) [.46] Happy is he that has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God, who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is therein, who keeps truth forever. Who executes judgment for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry. The Lord looses the prisoners. The Lord opens the eyes of the blind, the Lord raises them that are bowed down, the Lord loves the righteous. The Lord preserves the strangers, he relieves the fatherless and widow, but the way of the wicked he turns upside down. The Lord shall reign forever, even your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the Lord! (Psalm 147:1-5, 7-15) [1.58] Praise the Lord, for it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant and praise is comely. The Lord builds up Jerusalem. 4

[2.31] He gathers together the outcasts of Israel. He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds. He tells the number of the stars; he calls them all by their names. Great is our Lord, and of great power. His understanding is infinite. The Lord lifts up the meek. He casts the wicked down to the ground. [2.52] Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving. Sing praise upon the harp to our God, who covers the heaven with clouds, who prepares rain for the earth, who makes grass to grow upon the mountains. He gives to the beast his food and to the young ravens which cry. He delights not in the strength of the horse. He takes not pleasure in the legs of a man. The Lord takes pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy. [3.51] Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem. Praise your God, O Zion. [4.21] For he has strengthened the bars of your gates. He has blessed your children within you. He makes peace in your borders and fills you with the st of wheat. He sends forth his commandment upon the earth; his Word runs very swiftly. (Psalm 150:3-6) [5:03] Praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance. Praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise him upon the loud cymbals. Praise him upon the high-sounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord! Praise him with the sound of the trumpet. 5 The Fourth Movement: He Was Without Fault (Mark 15:15-20, 24-34) [.14] Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas to them and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified. The soldiers led him away into the hall, and they called together the whole band. [:31] They clothed him with a purple robe and platted a crown of thorns and put it about his head and began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews! They smote him on the head with a reed and spit upon him, and bowing their knees, worshipped him. [1.01] When they had mocked him, they took off the purple robe from him and put his own clothes on him and led him out to crucify him. [1:15] When they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots for them, what every man should take. And it was the third hour, and they crucified him. The superscription of his accusation was written over him, THE KING OF THE JEWS. [2:11] With him they crucified two thieves: one on his right hand, and the other on his left. [2:26] And the scripture was fulfilled which said, And he was numbered with the transgressors. They that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads and saying, Ah, you who destroys the temple and builds it in three days, save yourself and come down from the cross. Likewise, also, the chief priests, mocking, said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save. Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him.

[3.17] When the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. At the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice saying, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? (Isaiah 60:1-3) (4:10) Behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people, but the Lord shall arise upon you, and his glory shall be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising (Horns @4:52 ) Arise, shine, for your light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. (Mark 15:37-39, 43, 46; 16:2-4) [5:25] Jesus cried with a loud voice and gave up the ghost. And the veil of the temple was rent in two from the top to the bottom. When the centurion which stood there saw that he so cried out, said, Truly, this was the Son of God. Joseph of Arimathea, an honorable counseller which also waited for the kingdom of God, went in boldly to Pilate and craved the body of Jesus. He bought linen, and took him down and wrapped him in the linen, and laid him in a sepulchre which was hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone to the door of the spulchre. Very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came to the sepulchre at the rising of the sun. They said among themselves, Who shall roll away the stone from the door of the sepulchre? [6:25] And when they looked, they saw the stone was rolled away for it was very great. They saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment and they were afraid. (Mark 16:6, 7) [7:21] He said, Be not afraid. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified. He is risen. He is not here. Behold the place where they laid him, but go your way and tell his disciples and Peter that he goes before you into Galilee. There shall you see him as he said to you. (Mark 16:14-20) [8.12] Afterward he appeared to the eleven as they sat at meat. He said to them, Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believes and is baptized shall be saved, but he that believes not shall be damned. These signs shall follow them that believe: In my name shall they cast out devils. They shall speak with new tongues. They shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Then after the Lord had spoken to them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God, and they went forth and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the Word with signs following. 6
