(Is 9:1) It has been said that there are two ways of spreading light; to be the candle or the mirror that reflects the light. We now are in the season of Advent; we ve noticed the sun sets earlier and the sky s less bright. Inside churches, Advent Candles are featured; three purple, one pink. Each Sunday, we light one to bring light to our world...the light of Christ coming at Christmas. At Holy Trinity, parishioners gathered together to light the exterior of our church as a reminder to ourselves and those passing on the highway that He, The Light of the World, is coming. He is coming to each of our lives to bring peace and joy. During this season, we too will be lighting our homes and decorating our Christmas trees in anticipation of His birth. As Jesus is the Candle in our lives, we need to become the mirrors; to reflect His light and His love. Let us be the stewards of the light. Nine ministries at Holy Trinity needed help and 70 fellow parishioners came forward. We are in the process of contacting all new volunteers and we will be seeing new faces in our ministries in the near future. Thank you for signing up. A special thank you to Fr Mike for supporting this endeavor, to Paul Hilton for the production of the power point, to Debbie Kula for technical support, to the media ministers sharing it during Mass, and to Bob and Liz Ratzi for consolidating the sign-up sheets into an organized format. Stewardship continues to grow in our parish and truly the Holy Spirit is moving us all forward. Thank you all!
Pastors Reflections on our Parish Financial Health. Mahalo for your continued generosity in supporting our parish. Each year we publish, and I offer comments, on our Financial Statement of Activities. In it you will see where our Revenue comes from and how they are dispersed as Expenditures. I take financial transparency very seriously and personally review all aspects of both the Income and Expenses. To safeguard the resources that you donate I always seek the advice of our Parish Finance Committee, our Bookkeeper and Accountant. As a team we make sure that Best s are maintained, tax laws are followed, and Diocesan guidelines are adhered to. Please read this report and if necessary, feel free to contact me for further clarification. This your parish (if you are a registered member) and you have a right to know about the financial condition of our operations. What follows are some personal observations that I want to share with you: For a clarification of specific line items, please refer to the footnotes provided. A large percentage of our Income comes from rent by our two tenants (Kama aina Kids, and Easter Seals). Without this source of Income, we might not be in such good financial shape. Currently our major source of Income is from our weekly Offertory Collections. As you can see, this has only increased by $220.17 from last year. Thus, there has been no growth in your regular giving. I have tried to cut costs in two areas: Communications & Electricity. By using only one Communication provider and reaping the benefits of newly installed solar panels we should see substantial savings in the year to come. Mahalo for your great Stewardship, Adult Faith Formation presents: Family Faith Night Every parishioner has a story to tell and we are especially blessed to have several Holy Trinity Families who want to share their Faith Stories with us. Join us on Monday, December 3, at 7:00 pm and listen to our parish families extol how Jesus hears us!

Last minute reminder to all you angels out there. If you haven't already brought in your Angel Tree Gifts please bring your unwrapped gifts to the back of the church before December 5th. All 200 tags were claimed on the Angel Tree and your generosity will warm the hearts of many this holiday season. The next Baptism Class has been changed to December16th from 8:30 10:30 in the Rectory. In order to attend this class you must first fill out the appropriate forms and meet with Fr Mike BEFORE the Class. Unfortunately you will not be able to simply show up at the class. There is a procedure that must be followed. If you would like your child to receive baptism please call Jenifer to schedule an appointment to meet with Fr Mike and we will put you in touch with the Baptism Team. While we truly appreciate your generosity during this gift giving time of year, unfortunately we cannot accept any furniture at the church or Thrift Shop. We do not have the facilities to store furniture. If you have any furniture you would like to donate, we suggest you call Catholic Charities for suggestions of where you can take your donation. You could also call Salvation Army, Goodwill, Big Brothers or Cerebral Palsy for furniture pick up. And if all else fails you can always call bulky items to take away anything too large for you to move. Trim Our Church 2018
