Taking the saving gospel To a lost world RONALD COLEMAN 8813 WOOD GLEN DRIVE ROWLETT, TEXAS 75088 (972) 412-4273 GO INTO ALL THE WORLD AND PREACH THE GOSPEL TO EVERY CREATURE CENTERVILLE ROAD CHURCH OF CHRIST 1102 E. CENTERVILLE ROAD GARLAND, TEXAS 75041 I have been teaching in the school of preaching in Querétaro since January of 2001. This city of about 2 million people dates back to the year 1531 and is 160 miles north of Mexico City. It is in the tropics, about the same latitude as Hawaii. But the elevation of 6,300 feet gives it what I consider to be a wonderful climate. Much history is connected to the area. The only Emperor of Mexico, the Austrian Ferdinand Maximillian, was executed there by firing squad on June 19, 1867. The present constitution of the country was produced there in 1917. A magnificent aqueduct, finished in the year 1738, is a major attraction. There are several museums and historically significant buildings. Querétaro has the typical crime you would find in any large city in Mexico but they have been spared the terrible killings and atrocities committed by the drug cartels in some other areas of the country. In recent years, May has been the usual month for my work with the school of preaching. The school is conducted by the church meeting on Bernardo Quintana Road. This is the first and largest congregation in town, begun in the 1980s by Miguel Arroyo. Tragically, this wonderful brother was killed in a car accident in 2013. His family is still heavily involved in the work of both the church and the school. The oldest son, Alain, translated for us at the school and when we preached to the congregation. Miguel Jr. is a student in the school and already does much of the preaching for the church. Their mother, Olivia, is a truly devoted woman who is very active in the church and helps in numerous E-mail address: RONROSECOLEMAN@aol.com
ways to keep the school functioning smoothly. The oldest daughter, Princesa, is married to Carlos he plans to train to preach. They have a one-year-old son. The other daughter, Betsy, is a wonderful Christian girl studying in a local university. Rose and I traveled with Kenny and Belinda Gardner. Kenny preaches for the Plano East church in the Dallas area and teaches at the Brown Trail School of Preaching near Fort Worth. He has taught in Querétaro several times in the past. His topic this year was Between the Testaments and my subject was the book of Romans. We have worked with the Gardners before and hope we can again in the future! We are thankful to God for opportunities to help in training preachers. I appreciate so much your encouragement and assistance in the work. I am scheduled to leave for Ghana in West Africa on June 8. Please pray for a safe and profitable trip. Your coworker, Ronald Coleman For Jehovah God is a sun and shield; Jehovah will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. O Jehovah of Hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in You. (Psalms 84:11, 12)
