A P l A n o f S A lvat i o n Seek Him nd You Will Find Him M ost of us spend our time just living our lives dy to dy. eh dy looks pretty muh like the lst one nd we re just iding our time; usying ourselves until we die. We n try to fill our time with worldly things nd pursuits; ut ll the things of this world will ome to n end they will die, get rusty, rek, go out of style, or wer out. only the love of God nd his eternl kingdom will never end. We were not reted for futile, world-entered existene. God reted us for purposefilled lives nd produtive eternity ording to his design; nd he wnts eh one Think of your reltionship with God s fine romne. he onstntly whispers to you of his love for you. he sustins you; he provides for you; he demonstrtes his love for you every moment of every dy. he hs hosen you s one of his people; he hs hosen you s his ride nd he is your Bridegroom. But he gives you free will you n hoose to love him or not. There is no in-etween; it must e one or the other either you respond to his love nd mke Jesus lord of your life, or you don t. Wht hve you hosen? If you were to die right now, wht would your hoie men in terms of eternity? If you re not sure who Jesus is, just sk nd he ll nswer. Jeremih 9:3 sys, And ye shll seek me, nd find me, when ye shll serh for me with ll your hert. And Mtthew 6:33 sys, But seek ye first the kingdom of God, nd his righteousness; nd ll these things shll e dded unto you. even if you were the only person who ever lived, Jesus would still hve srified himself on the ross to resue you. you re tht importnt to him. he wnts you to know him nd he wnts you to spend eternity with him. If you re redy to ommit to Jesus Christ, you n do it wherever you re, right now. Just sk him to forgive you for your sins nd invite him into your hert. Confess with your mouth tht he is your lord nd Svior of your life. Sy this pryer tody nd give Jesus your hert nd you will reeive undnt, eternl life through him. of us to spend ll of eternity with him. Do you wnt to fill the emptiness in your life? Is there prt of you tht ries out tht there must e something more? There is. you n e sved y the one who loves you with n eternl love nd, through him, find mening, purpose, fulfillment, nd n eternlly rewrding life. Jesus is the one vitl differene etween Christinity nd every other religion. Jesus is one with God, ut he llowed himself to e lothed with flesh nd eme mn person, just like one of us. Think of it, the perfet, sinless Son of God, me to erth s mn nd lived sinless life. he is the only one who tully deserves heven. But he hose to leve heven s glorious shores nd ly down his humn life in order to py the prie for every sin you hve ever ommitted or ever will ommit. he died horrile deth he took upon himself your sin nd ssumed your penlty deth. he pid the full prie for your sins! The power of sin ws defeted y Jesus deth nd the power of deth ws roken when Jesus ws resurreted from the ded. Without Christ, ll of us re slves to the sin in our lives euse there is nothing strong enough in us to fight ginst it. But one we ept Christ, we reeive the holy Spirit, Who is God within us. With the power of the Spirit live in us, we hve the strength nd hert to fight ginst sin. As we grow with Christ, we win more nd more ttles ginst the lure of sin s we grow in our fith nd eome more like Christ. Then one dy, when we meet Christ fe to fe, we will e perfeted in him euse we gve our herts to him. So now, if we elieve tht Jesus ws the Son of God nd we ept him into our herts, God gives us the free gift of eternl life. When you ept Jesus s your Svior (the one who sved you from the penlty of deth), you re no longer guilty in the eyes of God. The wy hs een mde for you to spend eternity in heven with the Fther. you n live forever in tht perfet ple where there will e no sikness, sorrow, or pin. And no sin will ever enter into its holy gtes. There is nothing you n do to ern heven. It s not out eing good enough or doing ll the right things. The residents of heven will only e those who ept the free gift of slvtion tht Jesus mde possile when he died on the ross. If you pryed this pryer, you hve een totlly trnsformed. you re now hild of God omplete with ll the enefits his fmily enjoys. you hve reeived new nture or spirit; you hve literlly een hnged nd re new type of eing! Now you live in n eternl kingdom nd hve glorious future with Christ. you n wlk with him nd tlk with him every dy. Jesus will tke the reins of your life nd led you fithfully into his perfet will life filled with purpose nd promise. The lord is trustworthy nd will never led you wrong, even when he tkes you ples you 4 5 God, I ome in the nme of Jesus Christ. I m tired of trying to do this ll y myself. I don t know where I m going or why I m here. My life is empty nd full of sin. I know there is something missing. But, I elieve you re rel nd you mde me for reson. Lord, I reeive you into my hert nd ept you s my personl Lord nd Svior. Thnk you, Lord, for sving me nd giving me new life in you. Amen.

God Fith in God Here s seret: mommies eds re powerful. When my kids snuggled in ed with me, olds were ured, d dys got etter, ters dried up, nd no reepy thing or ump in the night stood hne! For my kids, life ws right in my presene. Sisters, life is right when we snuggle in God s presene, too Moses understood this power priniple etter thn nyone; in exodus 33:5, he sid to the lord, If thy presene go not with me, rry us not up hene. In essene, Moses ws sying to God: Dddy, we don t feel sfe without you, nd we ren t going to do life without you. he flt-out refused to leve God s presene. And so should we. In our dy-to-dy lives s women, we feel we hve to hve the nswers, we hve to mnge our homes, we hve to tke re of everyone s needs nd, honestly, it s just too esy to forget tht we re God hild. Moses didn t forget tht there is sfety, provision, omfort, nd pee in God s presene. When you hve fith in God you n run into his presene in times of troule, just like my little ones rn to me. It s time tht we, s elievers, run to our God, putting omplete fith nd onfidene in him. hve you hd ny d dys reently? Then lift your hnds right now nd get into God s presene. hve there een ters, reepy things, or umps in the night tht hve left you feeling vulnerle, frid, lonely, or ferful? Then know your hevenly Fther is witing right now with wrm spot right next to him just for you to snuggle lose in his presene. life will e so right when you do. Dvid, the shepherd oy who eme king of Isrel, hd virnt reltionship with God; nd this verse gives us glimpse s to why. In the ups nd downs nd twists nd turns of his life, he hd one onstnt pryer. But it wsn t out of mehnil oligtion. It stemmed from deep understnding tht he needed God. Dvid s flesh longed for God; his very soul thirsted for Him. He ouldn t wit to seek Him out; he ouldn t fford to wit. Dvid sought Him first-thing, so tht ll else ould e ordered right. He sought Him s wy of life. We might e inlined to run to God in times of troule, when we feel wek nd vulnerle. But we ultivte strong reltionship only when we reognize our onstnt need of Him. The truth is, whether we know it or not, our flesh is lwys wek nd vulnerle. And we live in dry nd thirsty lnd in whih we re promised to lwys hve troule (see John 6:33). But pryer keeps us onneted to power, gre, joy, nd pee. Pryer helps us to ide dily in the Lord. Pryer reminds us tht, though people let us down, there is One who will never leve us nor forske us (see Herews 3:5). It fouses our herts nd minds on wht truly mtters. Genesis T HE Book of Brief Overview All Sripture is inspired y God literlly God-rethed. Eh ook of the Bile hs two uthors: God nd humn instrument to whom God reveled His Word. It is trditionlly epted tht Moses penned the first five ooks of the Bile (the Pentteuh), the first of whih is Genesis (the Book of Beginnings), whih he wrote during the period of the exodus in pproximtely 45 B.C. Genesis estlishes God s the retor of the universe. At His Word, the world me into existene. Firmment (:6), hevens (:8), erth nd ses (:0), retures of the se (:0), irds of the ir (:), ests of the field (:4) ll responded to His Word. However, He eme intimtely involved in the retion of the first mn (:7) nd the first womn (:) s He shped nd rfted their eings with His own hnds nd rethed into them the very reth of life. They eme imge erers, reted in His very imge. Tht singulr t of intimte involvement with mn distinguishes him from the rest of God s retion nd demonstrtes the hert of God. We see His hert for mn reveled in the first eleven hpters s He dels with mnkind, sin (3:4 ), nd the flood (6:7 ). And we glimpse His wesome gre nd mery in Genesis 50 s He lls out the mn Arhm nd mkes ovennt with him nd his desendnts: n eternl ovennt (: 3), nd one tht would reverse the urse of the sin set in motion in the Grden. Genesis is the eginning of God s reveltion of His hrter nd nture to His retion. It sets in motion His story nd revels His perfet will for mnkind nd His hoie of people who will usher Svior into the world. It ll egins here in the Book of Beginnings Genesis. Genesis s It Reltes to Sisters in Fith When God pled the first womn in the Grden, He estlished immutle truths tht should serve s n nhor s we nvigte life nd ll it enompsses. These key truths spek powerfully to Afrin-Amerin women in these dys of reltive truth. Mrrige is divine institution. God lls us to His stndrd of one mn nd one womn joined in ommitted reltionship. In ulture tht now prizes shking up nd sme-sex mrriges, we hve ome long wy from the dys of old when our nestors would jump the room to symolize their ommitment to one nother. Even though lws prohiited them from legl mrrige, they were ound y higher lw. Genesis lls us k to these ilil foundtions. GENESIS : Cretion of the World IN the eginning God reted the heven nd the erth.
