INSIDE THIS ISSUE: P1 Back to School P2 Tribute to Mother Hollins P3Youth on A Mission P 7&12 August/SeptemberBirthdays The Faith Chronicle August/September Edition In this spot look forward to a special note or word from our Pastor to inspire us for the month. Watch this space to see what the Lord lays on the Bishop's heart for next month. Have a question for Bishop Moody or Pastor Carlis? Turn it in and look for a response next month. Email your question to faithtemplenews@gmail.com The school bells are ringing throughout the country. It is the time of year for students of all ages to return to the classroom. For some, it is a new beginning as they either enter formalized learning for the first time, or they are transitioning to a new school or level of attainment. For others they are returning to familiar faces, teachers and surroundings. For college students, many are starting new adventures as young adults making decisions on their own away from home. Whatever the situation, where ever life has you at this time, the best way to face "Back to School" is to PRAY! We are always to pray and faint not. Every battle can be fought in prayer. Our adversary, satan and his workers of iniquity, are on their job. They seek to devour, kill and destroy. BUT GOD! As believers we need to be on our job, praying against the work of the devil and building the Kingdom of God. Greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world. Don't get weary in well doing. Be encouraged in the Lord. A matter of fact, Encourage yourself in the Lord. Pray for your students each day, that the Lord will order their steps and direct their paths. As you enter your child's school, pray. Put blessed oil on your hands and as you walk down the halls, touch each locker and wall. Cast out the enemy and pray for the Lord to bless. Walk through the halls and claim the grounds for Christ. Walk around the building and pray. Pray for the teachers and staff. Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses. Joshua 1:3. Believe God for every student, faculty and staff. Decree and declare a blessed and safe school year for your students and their friends. God can and He will do it!

In loving memory of our church mother: Mother Missionary Evangelist Carolyn Baker Hollins Born on earth: January 27, 1952 Reunited with the Saints in Glory : August 4, 2018 Mother Carolyn Hollins was named by Bishop Moody as the Leader of the Mother's Board of Faith Temple following the passing of Mother Alice Tyson. Mother Hollins loved Jesus and the Word of God. She lived the Word, read the Word, spoke the Word, prayed the Word, taught the Word and ministered the Word whenever she had an opportunity. Mother Hollins taught in the new members class. Her students loved her because she taught them in spirit and in truth. Mother believed and taught holiness. She was filled with joy and wisdom. She loved and cared for the Saints. On Saturday August 4th, God called her home to the place she lived her life planning to go to. We were all shocked to hear that she was gone but knew that Mother was with the Lord that she loved so much. While saddened to hear of her sudden demise, we were comforted in knowing that she went from labor to reward. We could only imagine Mother receiving her crown and reuniting with the Saints who went home before her. We can't thank Tasha, Me'Chelle, Perry, Oliver, and all of her grandchildren for allowing us to call her Mother too. You shared her love and wisdom with all of us and we are grateful. God will forever bless the memory of Carolyn Jane Baker Hollins. She is resting with the Savior.

Youth On A Mission This summer teams of missionaries spent two weeks ministering to the people of the world. The Lord has blessed Youth On A Mission since its founding by Bishop Carlis L. Moody in 1978 to enable young missionaries to travel to many countries of the world to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. As believers, this is the Great Commission. Matthew 28:18-20 King James Version (KJV) 18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. This year teams led by Church of God in Christ Global Mission's Department Vice President Marx Succes and his wife Marie, and Elder Alvin Perryman and his wife Maria led the way for the Faith Temple delegation, leading teams to Ethiopia and North Dakota, respectively. Dr. June Rivers and her husband Charles led a group to Puerto Rico. Elder Harry Beard and his wife Etiwanda led the group in England. God Answers Prayer in North Dakota By our Youth Editor Alyssa Jackson Before coming on this trip, I asked God to allow me to have one amazing thing happen that I knew came directly from Him. When I prayed this prayer, I was expecting to see some sort of miracle or have supernatural experience, but I experienced the love of God through a little girl named Kaia. When we first met she was just a normal little girl who liked to run around and play. During our first day together, with tears in her eyes she revealed that her mother had been in jail for a very long time. She gave me a hug and cried because she missed her mother and wanted to see her again. After we both prayed and cried about the situation, Kaia accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and savior. She was the first person to give her life to Christ while we were in North Dakota. I am amazed at the way the Lord answered my prayer. I asked for something that I expected to last for a few moments, but the Lord gave me something that lasted for a week and a half. This friendship that was built over a short period of time helped me experience God s love in a brand new way. I experienced God s love by the way this little girl s face would light up everytime the bus would pull up outside of the community center and everytime I would hear her little voice say can I sit by you? or I just want to be with you today. As a team member I was supposed to make the people in North Dakota feel loved and wanted but I received that love and affection everyday from Kaia. 3

IMPACT in Ethiopia by Mission Team Member Elder Ed Jackson A dreary, afternoon rain greeted the 2018 Youth on a Mission team as our flight landed in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Even though we have been prepared through two months of phone conference calls to expect many days of rain, when you think Ethiopia, you generally think hot. Nevertheless our leader, Elder Marx Succes made his way through the team reminding us of our ultimate objective...,,impact...same theme, different country...impact. We want to impact the lives of men, women, boys, girls, Pastors and anyone we come into contact with over the next two weeks. The Lord used this team to do exactly that. This article can only scratch the surface concerning what God accomplished in Ethiopia. I will list just a few amazing things that impacted the lives of our brothers and sisters in Ethiopia; 1.-The gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was proclaimed through the preached word, through VBS(vacation Bible school) through Evangelism and through one on one conversations. As a result, 1168 souls made first time confessions of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Most of those came through VBS, led this year by Sister Cordelia Scott. 2.- Many we re healed, delivered, set free and filled with the mighty Holy Ghost in every service. 3.- Our medical, hospitality, pharmacy, prayer and Evangelism teams touched the lives of all they came into contact with. 4.- YOAM was able to bless several people with $500.00 (U.S.) scholarships towards college. This covers one year tuition. 5.-YOAM was also able to provide several $500.00 (U.S.) to individuals in order to start businesses. 6. YOAM donated $14,000 in aid to finish construction on 2 churches 7- Due to the donations of our many supporters, we were able to purchase 400 pairs of boots locally, which not only was a blessing to those children who received them but the money to purchase remained in the local economy. Our goal was Impact...simply stated, we fulfilled our goal. Elder Ed Jackson YOAM team member, 2018 Missions... It s not what we do...it s who we are...!!!

Getting ready for Angel Tree It is time to prepare for Angel Tree Christmas Gift giving. This program allows us to minister to children who have an incarcerated parent. This can really be a blessing to a child and their family during the Christmas season. It is a blessing to use as we get to share the Love of Jesus. Jesus is the greatest gift and the reason for the Christmas season. If you are interested in being a blessing. Please see Sis. Simone Warburton following service in the Geneva Hall. Be one of the first two people to text Sister Cherise at 847-899-0206 and say the name of the girl in North Dakota who was led to the Lord by Sis. Alyssa and her mother is imprisoned. Remember to say, I am praying for.
