Men s Day 2015 Celebration Reverend Antonio Q. Revell, Welcome to Men's Day at New First Baptist Church (Taylorsville) I am excited that you have come to worship and celebrate with us today! Our men have been working diligently as they have centered their hearts around 1 Thessalonians 3:11-13, lifting up the theme "To see Christ formed in every man through a head, heart and hand ministry." Certainly, they demonstrate this daily in our church as well as this community. I commend you on your commitment to follow Christ and be a witness of his power through your service. Again, to our visitors, we welcome you and thank you for worshiping with us today. Yours in Christ, Pastor Antonio Revell 1 Thessalonians 3:11-13 (KJV) 11 Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you. 12 And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you: 13 To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints. Men s Day 2015 Chairman Deacon Fred Rodgers Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established. Proverbs 16:3 I am grateful to the Lord for allowing me to serve as the Men s Day 2015 Chairman. I am thankful for the fellowship of the Men s Ministry for their active role in the events and planning for this day. We give thanks for all the men of New First Baptist Church (Taylorsville) who rallied to make our Men s Day a success. We united in love, peace, and harmony to strengthen each other and grow as members of one body. Without each of you, it would have been impossible and again I say, Thank you. Deacon Brower, our Vice-Chairman, who steadfastly has been a great support and friend in the various tasks we had to accomplish, I appreciate you and I pray that God will continue to bless you and your family. Also, thank you to all of the men and women that faithfully supported the Men s Day effort and the Men s Ministry. We are looking forward to the mighty and exciting things the Lord has in store for our Men s Ministry and our great church as we continue together to believe and trust in God s Holy Word. I have great confidence that our steps are ordered by the Lord and I proclaim that God is the way the truth and the life! Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. Proverbs 27:17 Men s Day 2015 Vice-Chairman Deacon Everett Brower I, greet you in the only name that matters, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior! I would like to welcome all of you to our 2015 Men s Day Celebration. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as Vice-Chairman of this great group of men at New First Baptist Church (Taylorsville). I am grateful for the advice and leadership of our Men s Day Chairman, Deacon Fred Rodgers. This has been a rewarding experience for me as the men have really displayed love, peace, and understanding as we worked together in a spirit-filled and Christ-like way. Let us remember this scripture: Romans 8:28, And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. I thank God and all of you for this opportunity and may we all continue to love one another in peace and harmony. Again, I welcome you and may God bless you all richly.

7 AM Worship Service ~ Guest Speaker Reverend Antonio L. Newsome Pastor of Wesley Grove United Church of Christ Newport News, VA Antonio L. Newsome was born on December 16, 1972 in Norfolk, Virginia to Vernie Boone and the late Shelton L. Newsome. He was raised by his great great aunt and uncle, the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert R. Miller who were members in good standing at St. Mark UCC. He began his Christian walk under the leadership of Dr. David P. Butts. Very early in his life, Rev. Newsome felt the calling towards ministry, preaching in particular. At the age of 18, he preached his initial sermon for a youth service at Poplar Springs UCC in Raleigh, North Carolina. It was then that he was certain that this was a part of God s purpose for his life. God had Rev. Newsome on His potter s wheel, remolding, and rebuilding him into His vessel. In 2008, Rev. Newsome was asked by his pastor, Rev. Thomas J. Hart, to serve as youth minister of St. Mark UCC. During that time, he served at many ministerial levels, and God used him mightily. In June 2013, Rev. Newsome received his Bachelor s Degree in Theology from Union Christian Bible Institute in Portsmouth, Virginia. Later that year on September 8, he was called to pastor Wesley Grove United Church of Christ in Newport News, Virginia where God is doing a mighty work and the spirit of Christ dwells therein. Rev. Newsome has one son, Geramiah and is married to the love of his life, Andrea Alston Newsome. Rev. Newsome s favorite scripture is Romans 8:18: For I reckon that the suffering of this present time is not worthy to be compared to the glory that shall be revealed to us. 7 AM Service ~ Sunday, November 15, 2015 To See Christ Jesus Formed in Every Man through a Head, Heart, and Hand Ministry... 1 Thessalonians 3:11-13 Order of Worship Musical Prelude...
