Immaculate Conception

Transcription:

26In the sixth month of Elizabeth s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin s name was Mary. 28 The angel went to her and said, Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you. Luke 1:26-38 (NIV)

29Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30But the angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. 31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, Luke 1:26-38 (NIV)

33and he will reign over Jacob s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end. 34 How will this be, Mary asked the angel, since I am a virgin? 35 The angel answered, The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Luke 1:26-38 (NIV)

36Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. 37For no word from God will ever fail. 38 I am the Lord s servant, Mary answered. May your word to me be fulfilled. Then the angel left her. Luke 1:26-38 (NIV)

45Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill His promises to her! Luke 1:45 (NIV)

P R E G N A N T W I T H IMPOSSIBLE

God wants the impossible to be made possible in your life.

Receive God s Impossible Favor In the sixth month of Elizabeth s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin s name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you. Luke 1:26-30 (NIV)

Receive God s Impossible Favor Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. Luke 1:26-30 (NIV)

Receive God s Impossible Favor Highly Favored to show kindness to someone, with the implication of graciousness on the part of the one showing such kindness

Receive God s Impossible Favor Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill His promises to her! Luke 1:45 (NIV)

Receive God s Impossible Favor If you focus on what is fair, you won t ever believe in God s favor.

Receive God s Impossible Favor By faith Sarah herself received power to conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered him faithful who had promised. Hebrews 11:11 (ESV)

Receive God s Impossible Favor God's favor for you supersedes the difficulty of the miracle he wants to perform through you.

The Solution to Impossible: God Will Overshadow You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob s descendants forever; His kingdom will never end. How will this be, Mary asked the angel, since I am a virgin? Luke 1:31-37 (NIV)

The Solution to Impossible: God Will Overshadow The angel answered, The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. For no word from God will ever fail. Luke 1:31-37 (NIV)

The Solution to Impossible: God Will Overshadow Overshadow to cause a shadow by interposing something between an object and a source of light; to cast a shadow upon.

Surrender Brings Impossible To Term I am the Lord s servant, Mary answered. May your word to me be fulfilled. Then the angel left her. Luke 1:38 (NIV)
