Easter is only three weeks away Sunday, April 16, 2017. I am looking forward to the Resurrection Celebration we have planned for you and the friends and family you will bring with you this year. The message Come Alive At Easter Living the Better Life, offers hope that we were made for more than the good life. God created us for the better life! Here are four specific things you can do as we prepare to celebrate Easter: 1. Invite your friends! It s always amazed me that although I know that many of my friends are looking for a church to attend on Easter, I still feel nervous about inviting them. We all feel a bit nervous when talking about things that are important to us, but the truth is, when you invite a friend to join you for church on Easter they very often will come, and even if they cannot, they ll appreciate the fact that you thought of them. 2. Come to any service other than 9:30 or 11:00 am on Sunday! Those services will be filled with many who are coming for the first time, without a friend bringing them. One of the things I love about Our Savior s Way is the way we make room for our guests and help them to feel welcome. So, if your schedule allows, come to the Sunrise Service at 6:30 am or at 8:00 am. 3. Help out in any way you can. If you see anything that needs to be done a piece of paper that needs to be picked up, a person who needs a question answered, a restroom that needs to be cleaned I encourage you to just do it. Another great thing about Our Savior s Way is that we all pull together to do whatever is needed. 4. Personally celebrate the good news of Easter starting today! Just think of it because of Easter our past is forgiven, our life is worth living and we have a future in heaven! Romans 3:22 says, We are made right in God s sight when we trust in Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we all can be saved in this same way, no matter who we are or what we have done. I m looking forward to seeing you this Easter, Pastor Bill Mann

Did You Know? New Discipleship Series But you are chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light (I Peter 2:9). God has called each of us to declare his praises. At OSWLC we take God s Word seriously that everyone who believes in Jesus Christ is called to be a disciple. This is why we are offering a Discipleship Series on Sunday mornings to equip you for God s service. Our Discipleship Series begins with First Connect and helps you understand the vision God has given to our congregation to serve each other, to serve our community, and to serve the world around us. First Connect is a one time class offered four times a year and led by Pastor Tyson Labuhn. First Connect is followed by Faith Connect, a six week class taught by Pastor Peterson. Faith Connect is designed to help you understand God s personal love for you and how he has called you to share His love with others. The next class in our Discipleship Series is called Discover Your Discipleship Path. This is a six week class taught by Pastor Justin Kumfer, which will help you identify your spiritual gifts and how God has worked in your life so that you can share the Gospel. Next in the series is Following Jesus on His Mission. Following Jesus on His Mission is a six week discussion group taught by Mike Delancy, which will help you be a disciple wherever you are. For information contact: Pastor Peterson pastor.peterson@oswlc.org Columbarium and Memorial Garden Please check out the display in the Narthex for information on purchasing niches ($3000 each) or donating to our efforts to construct the hardscape surrounding the garden. Envelopes are available for your donation (make checks out to OSWLC and mark it for "Memorial Garden.") Construction will begin when sufficient funds have been raised (the goal is 30,000). "5 Wishes" Advance Directive forms and Grief Share information is also available at the display. Linda Merkle parishnursing@oswlc.org

Next Date: May 7 Please consider joining a Doing Life Together small group so that you might begin to connect with more people in your new church family. If you are a new Christian, please speak to one of the Pastors about the Sacrament of Holy Baptism. Pastor Tyson Labuhn 703-858-9254 tyson@oswlc.org Women's Ministry Are you looking to grow in relationship with other Christian women? Do you struggle with questions like who those ladies would be, what you would talk about, where you would meet, or when you would get together? We know that when we are in a loving, supportive community we are all better! The women's ministry has started down the path of fellowship groups, called "if: Table." Table groups consist of 6 women, 4 questions, 2 hours, and one meal in individual homes. They are casual gatherings; the discussion questions are provided and, even better, so is a recipe! There are even women who are looking for a group! If you're interested in connecting with other ladies by joining a Table group or facilitating the first meeting, please contact Nikki Deacon. nikki@oswlc.org Loudoun Homeless Shelter Housing Request Let me first remind you all how much you are appreciated for all the caring and support you have shown, and continue to show, the Loudoun Homeless Services Center. As we work towards ending homelessness we have a new addition to our team who will assist our guests in finding a place to call home. Once again, I am calling on you all to put the word out. If you know someone that has a room, a basement, an apartment, or residence that is reasonable in rent and in need of a tenant, please reach out directly to our Housing Locator, Alissa Blackmore. Housing is our goal and everyone deserves a home, so please share with your church family, your coworkers, and your neighbors. Alissa is waiting to hear from anyone with knowledge of a potential place for one of our guests that is ready to move on. As always friends, may God bless you.
