God now calls these, our sisters and brothers, to a special ministry of caring and service. We dedicate them to God. Congregation: We affirm these who have come to be ordained for the special ministry of the diaconate and those who come to be installed for another term of service. CHURCH PICNIC: The church wide picnic begins at 1:00 p.m. today. So come and join us at Croft State Park. We have reserved picnic shelter #2, located near the boat ramp. (Turn left at the ranger station and follow road to the lake.) Each family should bring their own picnic lunch. Individuals may bring canoes, kayaks, bikes or paddle boards. Admission is $2 for adults and $1.25 for seniors. There is no charge for children who are fifteen years old and younger. Other activities include: hiking, mountain biking, critter watching, wading in Fairforest Creek and fishing. Individuals must have a valid SC fishing license. The park address is 450 Croft State Park Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29302. Hope to see you there for an afternoon of fellowship, solitude and recreation. CHURCH WIDE CAMPING TRIP: Join us on the weekend of October 9 th -11 th for our yearly camping trip at the Springfield site on Lake Hartwell. We have reserved 4 sites for campers, RV s or tents.
