For those whose homes were flooded or invaded by rain, the contents of the homes o en could not be salvaged. Many mes, there was no contents insurance. With the help of Suppor ng Peace a New Bern non-profit that has sought out these needs, and Catholic Chari es in New Bern, you can help! We have a plan (like the Boun ful Tree program) to quickly and efficiently meet these needs. Take an angel from the tree in the atrium and bring back to church NEXT weekend the ar cles requested on the back of the angel. We will get them to the people who are asking for our help. THANK YOU! Many of these families are returning to livable, permanent condi ons but have few household items: bed sheets, glassware, toasters, lamps, etc. Almost anything...even gently used. If you have two of something, can you donate one? If you can afford to go buy it, great. One Week and We re Done!

Today s Readings: Exodus 3:1-15; Psalm 103:1-11; Corinthians 10: 1-12; Luke 13:1-9 During Jesus me on earth, people understood repentance to mean a change of life, a total transforma on. Change is difficult, even when it is small. In today s Gospel, while the owner want to cut the tree down, the gardener asks that he be allowed to care for the fig tree, cul va ng the ground and fer lizing it, so that it would bear future fruit. During Lent, we are offered the opportunity to reexamine our lives and to seek what God desires of us. This is our chance to be fer lized and cul vated in God s ways so that we can bear fruit. How are you making small changes in your life so that God can transform you? How can you integrate these changes into your life a er Lent? Take some me today to reflect on what in your life is in need of repentance. Remember, Lent is nearly half over. Pa ence and Mercy God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, you rescued your people and led them to a land of milk and honey. Throughout history, you have pa ently allowed your people me to repent. May we be grateful for your mercy and regard this season of Lent as a me to be cul vated in your ways so that we may bear fruit in the future. We look to your Word to guide us on our journey as we seek to know your will. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen. THIS WEEK AT HOME Monday, March 25 Mary responds to God s call I am the handmaid of the Lord, may it be done to me according your word. Mary models for us how we are to respond to God, with a humble heart that is ready to assist and to serve. Isaiah 1:10-14; Psalm 40:7-11; Hebrews 10:4-10;Luke 1:26-38. Tuesday, March 26 Forgiveness can lead to healing and peace. This is our hope to be restored to one another and to God. Plan to par cipate in your parish s opportuni es to receive forgiveness in the Sacrament of Reconcilia on. Daniel 3:25-43; Psalm 25:4-9; Ma hew 18:21-35. Wednesday, March 27 Jesus comes to fulfill the law, and the law he shares is the law of love. We must live out our Faith with a sincere heart. Today strive to live your ac ons with a renewed heart of love and humility for the Lord. Deuteronomy 4:1-9; Psalm 147:12-20; Ma hew 5:17-19. Thursday, March 28 Have you ever been in a situa on in which there seemed to be no good op ons to take? Jesus invites us to follow him and in doing so, we need to pray for one another. Ask God to heal those who have wronged you and for the courage to keep following Jesus way. Jeremiah 7:23-28; Psalm 95:1-9; Luke 11:14-23. Friday, March 29 Jesus summarized the commandment into loving God completely and loving neighbor as ourselves. Do you find it more difficult to love God or others? What does it mean to love God with all of your heart, soul, mind and strength? Hosea 14:2-10; Psalm 81:6-17; Mark 12:28-34. Saturday, March 30 Jesus calls us to a right a tude of ourselves before God and others. Do you open yourself to be changed through prayer? As you con nue to journey through Lent, consider keeping a special me for prayer to enrich your rela onship with God. Hosea 6:1-6; Psalm 51:3-21; Luke 18:9-14.
