OUR LEADERSHIP Cheryl Doyle, President and Founder Cheryl Doyle has been married to her husband, Brian, for 37 years. They have five children, three of whom are married, and two grandchildren. Brian and Cheryl are members of St. Mary Great Mother of God Parish in Lowell where Cheryl entered the Catholic Church in 1977. Although Cheryl has no formal qualifications for starting a radio station, she had an open heart to follow God s call and a great desire to bring Christ to others and others to Christ. She believes that this apostolate came about only by the guiding light of the Holy Spirit and the intercession of the Blessed Mother. Cheryl began listening regularly to Catholic radio (via satellite) in 2003 and it had a great impact on her faith. As a result, she felt called to make Catholic radio available to others in the West Michigan area to help them discover, or rediscover, the beauty and richness of the Catholic faith, too. Rev. Troy Nevins, Spiritual Director The second of six children, Fr. Troy Nevins grew up in Grand Rapids. A graduate of Forest Hills Northern High School, Fr. Troy entered Christopher House Seminary while attending Aquinas College. In 1988 he transferred to the Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio, receiving his bachelor s degree in 1990. In June 1996, following his studies and formation at Mundelein Seminary in Chicago, he was ordained for the Diocese of Grand Rapids. He has served the diocese as Associate Pastor of St. Patrick Church in Portland, Pastor of St. Joseph in Belding and St. Mary Church in Miriam, Pastor of Christ the King in Howard City, Pastor of St. Francis de Sales in Lakeview, and is presently Pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary in Grand Rapids. OUR COVERAGE

NATIONAL PROGRAMMING Daily live call-in program designed to offer Catholics and other Christians an opportunity to hear from and talk with some of the leading apologists and theologians in the Church today. Catholic Connection covers social issues, media awareness, and local businesses, youth, families, and community leaders in Southeastern Michigan and reports on news throughout the Catholic community and how we can make a difference. Dr. Anders encourages collaboration across media (internet and radio) as we continue to discuss what divides us as Christians and as human beings. Instruction on the Catechism of the Catholic Church and other topics critical to those seeking answers to life s greatest questions. Al talks abortion, war, peace, dissent, old age, New Age, heavy metal, light eating, politics, church affairs, current events, family and marriage, movies and media, theology and apologetics, sports, crime and business. It s talk radio where God matters.

LISTENER BENEFITS Local Catholic radio is changing lives, infusing the life of the local Church with a new energy, and is a vital instrument in the Church's work of evangelization. It helps Catholics PRACTICE the Faith for it is. Personal Radio touches people personally regardless of where they are. It allows a listener to dialogue with the speaker in the privacy of his own mind in a one-on-one dialogue. Relevant - Catholic radio answers the biggest questions of life: Does God exist? What is the purpose of life? Why does a loving God allow suffering and evil? Available Everyone can listen, especially the poor and homeless (no subscription or service needed). Continuous Radio is always available, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. It can be listened to while driving, cooking or even mowing the lawn. Timely Radio covers important issues and concerns as they happen. Impactful Through thousands of testimonials it is clear Catholic radio transforms lives through connecting listeners with the truths of the Faith with charity and clarity. Cost-effective Dollar for dollar radio costs less than any other medium; it reaches more people in less time for less money with less staff. Efficacious Radio makes other evangelization efforts and programs in our Catholic community fruitful.

OUR LISTENERS Who are listeners? (HFR) has a growing loyal listening audience who has helped this apostolate expand rapidly by supporting it with their prayers, financial gifts and hundreds of volunteer hours. Programming on HFR appeals mostly to listeners over 30 years of age, half who are non- Catholic. They care about the Catholic Church, the future of the family, and the moral decline of our culture. Here is a sample of how is impacting the lives of our listeners: is such a blessing. As a recent revert, I am constantly learning about my Catholic faith. I have 4 kids, 5 and under, so taking classes and long hours of reading cannot happen on a regular basis. Being able to turn on the radio while driving gives me the opportunity to learn something new, or just feel connected with my Catholic faith. You have quality programming that I am very proud to promote to others. Thank you for all that you do and God Bless you! -- Angela When HFR was off the air due to flooding at the transmitter site, April 2013: When will be back on the air?! I miss your station so much! Now that I ve found Catholic radio, there s nothing else worth listening to. I m so tired of all the other talk shows all the political arguing and such. -- John A. We re immersed in a culture that is anti-faith, and it s hard to talk about the faith in the workplace. But when you have Catholic radio on, it s a nice steady stream of solid Catholic teaching that gives you the support needed. -- Kathryn Listening to during the day while I work has helped me to keep my faith at the center of all that I do, all of the time. has caused my faith to deepen in prayer and practice. It is such a blessing to have access to Catholic radio! Dawn And many non-catholics and Catholics who have been away from the Church have told us Holy Family Radio offers them the opportunity to eavesdrop on the Catholic faith and (re)discover answers to many questions they have had. WHERE ARE PROGRAMS PRODUCED?

BECOME AN UNDERWRITER The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) allows non-commercial stations such as to thank businesses for tax deductible donations with short on-air acknowledgements. Recognition of those gifts on-air is referred to as an underwriting message. Why Underwrite? By underwriting programming, you are doing something good for your business and the community. Underwriting at presents an opportunity for Catholic and non-catholic business owners to actively and publicly lend their financial support before an audience that covers Greater Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo regions. Underwriters are afforded an enhanced public image. Loyal listeners greatly value, recognize and will support the investment made by local and regional businesses in support of their Catholic radio station. FCC Underwriting Guidelines Clear guidelines make for a good message. A combination of FCC and guidelines ensure that the message brought forth is clear and concise. Superlatives (i.e., best, greatest, most reliable, etc.) 4. Inducements to buy (rent, sell, or lease) 5. Comparative language (i.e., award-winning, board-certified, etc.) Underwriting Guidelines 1. Web site information may be included. As an added value, we will also provide a direct link from our Current Underwriters list to the web pages of our underwriters. 2. Other than accepted slogans, words such as you, your, our, and we are not permitted.
