Alene Porter Mason April 17, 2002 ERWIN -- Ms. Alene P. Mason, 88, of 406 S. 15th St., died Tuesday in her home. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Price Funeral Home chapel in Erwin by the Rev. Jerome Pope. Burial will be in Erwin Memorial Park. Ms. Mason is survived by two daughters, Linda Davis and Rosa Lee Faircloth, both of Erwin; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Duncan Wesley Byrd November 21, 1998 Duncan Wesley Byrd, 92, of Bunnlevel died Thursday in Good Hope Hospital in Erwin. The funeral will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. today in O'Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home chapel in Lillington by the Rev. Steve Gordon. Burial will be in Bunnlevel Cemetery. Mr. Byrd is survived by a sister, Hazel B. Greene of Erwin; and a brother, Lassiter Byrd of Lillington. The family will receive friends today from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Porter is survived by three sons, Kenneth Glover of Erwin, David Glover of St. Pauls and Edward Glover of Dunn; three daughters, Judy Barnes of Clayton, Betty Reiss of Bolivia, N.C., and Hilda Glover of Erwin; a brother, Lossie R. Norris of Godwin; three sisters, Louise Mason of Spring Lake, Lillian Norris of Benson and Linda Norris of Dunn; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Jethro Godwin News & Observer, The (Raleigh, NC) December 28, 2001 Mr. Jethro Godwin, 88, of Dunn died Thursday morning at Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital. The Harnett County native was the son of the late Titus and Lidia Godwin. He was a life long member of Anitoch PFWB Church were he served as a Deacon and Secretary. He was a member of the Palmyra Lodge #147, Scottish Rite Bodies of Wilmington and Sudan Temple of New Bern. Mr. Godwin was a jeweler and watchmaker for more than 60 years. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Antioch PFWB Church by Rev. Wesley Hamilton. Burial will follow in Erwin Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife, Isabelle Godwin of Dunn; a daughter, Lois G. Konitiotis of Syracuse, NY; two brothers; Roy Godwin of Erwin and Arthur Godwin of Jacksonville; four grandchildren; Michael John Byrne, Christine Ann Byrne, Mary Byrne; two great-grandchildren; Michael and Danny Byrne. Purdie Hamilton Byrd March 30, 1995 Purdie Hamilton Byrd, 74, of Erwin died Wednesday in Veterans Affairs Hospital in Fayetteville. He retired from the Army after 28 years of service and served in Vietnam. Mr. Byrd was a retired police officer from the Erwin Police Department and was a member of Neil S. Stewart Lodge No. 556 and Erwin Advent Christian Church. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Price Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Ken Price. Burial will be in Erwin Memorial Park.
