Come and enjoy coffee, sweets and the program by our children. Thanks to parents for bringing children to practices, and teachers and seminarians who helped to co-ordinate the program. Practice was held on November 24 th, and additional practices are on December 1 st and December 8 th from 10 AM to 12 noon. Christmas candy orders will be picked up on Sunday, December 9 th. Top seller with sales of $245 is Kurtis Dutko. He will receive a food gift card. Many thanks to all who sold and bought candy to support this project. Profit for the Sunday School was over $400. Memorial gifts received include $40 in memory of + Ruby Kesselak given by Mike Kesselak, and $40 in memory of + Stephen Brudnak. Parents please note: There IS Sunday School on December 23 rd and December 30 th, as well as on January 6 th, 2013. Classes will also be held on Sunday, December 16 th, the day of the St. Nicholas Dinner. The annual Bowling Party will be held on Thursday, December 27 th at Westmont Lanes. Plan ahead to have fun! Further details will be announced. Sunday School and VBS children are free. Guests pay $3 for bowling and pizza. Congratulations to Anna Marie Mlinarchik who won the Everything for Thanksgiving basket. Thanks to all who bought chances to help support the Sunday School. Profit was $181. EDUCATIONAL CENTER NEWS Our recent pork chop dinner was a success. We are grateful for all the cake donations and all who helped serve and clean up afterwards. A holupki sale is underway. Only 100 dozen will be made. Price is $15 per dozen. Orders must be placed by Sunday, November 25 th. See Donna Yarina after Liturgy or any Ed Center officer for orders. Pick-up is Saturday, December 1 st from 1-3 PM at the back entrance of the Center.

SR. A.C.R.Y. NEWS Chapter dues for 2013 are now being collected. Dues are $15/person. Deadline is December 1, 2012. Several Lots-O-Luck calendars are still available. See Donna Yarina. A Senior/Junior get-together is set for Tuesday, December 11 th at 6 PM in the Cathedral Auditorium. Our Senior members will team up with the recently organized Junior chapter for a Christmas Social. If you plan to attend this social, please let Donna Yarina know in advance so the menu can be planned accordingly. Please remember that the Sr. ACRY is running the 50/50 ticket every Sunday in the Cathedral Auditorium following Divine Liturgy. Winner to be drawn on the last Sunday of the month. This is a no fuss/no bother project that truly helps the ACRY treasury. The chapter will once again sponsor OPERATION SAINT NICHOLAS. This project as in the past will take place at the St. Nicholas Day Dinner scheduled for Sunday, December 16 th. Canned goods as well as store Gift Certificates are requested. These items will be administered to less fortunate families of our parish. FAMILY KITCHEN NEWS Monthly meetings have been suspended for the winter, and the next meeting is on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 7 PM in the Cathedral Auditorium. Cookies will be needed for the annual Christmas Dinner for the poor. Parishioners are needed to bake Christmas cookies. Please take the cookies to the Family Kitchen (across from Yankee Shoe Repair) through the middle of December. We succeeded in reaching our goal of one-hundred parishioners who were willing to give $2. Personal hygiene products will be purchased from our church. JUNIORS NEWS The annual Bowling Party is on Thursday, December 27 th at Westmont Lanes. Sunday School children and VBS children are free. Guests are $3 for bowling and pizza. LOOK JOHNSTOWN ORTHODOX YOUTH will have an outing to see the Johnstown Tomahawks play on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 1:00 PM. Tickets for children 12 and under are just $6. Tickets for 13 and up will be either $9.50 or $8.00 depending on the number of persons attending. Children 2 and under are free. This event is open to everyone, not only children. There is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board. Parents call Fr. Miles Zdinak at 467-7444 with any questions. Please observe the fasting prescriptions the Church has given us in the very best way that you can, but minimally fasting from meat on all Wednesdays and Fridays. OPERATION ST. NICHOLAS has now begun, sponsored by our A.C.R.Y. We are asking our parishioners to bring in non-perishable foods, grocery gift certificates and money gifts. These items will be given to needy families during the holidays. Please place your gifts on the stage in the Auditorium. The A.C.R.Y. will distribute the gift packages. CATHEDRAL SENIORS ANNUAL CHRISTMAS DINNER Sunday, December 9 th at the Holiday Inn Downtown. Come and enjoy a wonderful social time together. Anyone can be there you do not have to be a member of the Seniors Group. Cost per person is $20. Please make your reservation in the Cathedral Office.
