CHURCH & CANDIDATE PROFILE SENIOR PASTOR Community Bible Fellowship Aledo, IL
Community Bible Fellowship - Aledo, Illinois, United States Seeking: Senior Pastor Denomination: Non-denominational Church Size: 101-150 Job Type: Full-time Years of Experience: 3+ years Education Level: Masters (preferred) Church Profile: Community Bible Fellowship is a Scripture-based, community & service oriented congregation with leadership comprised of male and female elders and deacons. The constitution, bylaws, and policy are built upon Scripture. A typical weekly service features an eclectic music selection with large lay-involvement. The nondenominational church was founded in 1994. Our current pastor, Kevin Cajun Pauley, has served as our Senior Elder and Pastor since 2000. We are seeking his replacement as he transitions into retirement. 2
Strengths: A high percentage of our congregants volunteer and serve on a weekly basis and are generous with their tithes and offerings. We have a compassionate population with a wide diversity of age and background. It is not uncommon to see one congregant wearing a tie next to another wearing jeans and a t-shirt. Our congregation is willing to break with tradition in order to conform with Scripture when the two are demonstrated to be incongruent. The presentation quality of our service is high, due to a tech-savvy team of volunteers who operate a robust soundboard, lighting system, projector arrays, and camera/television system. The church sits on a large piece of land on the main highway with room to grow. Challenges: Due to the high percentage of congregants serving (many in multiple ways), there is a degree of volunteer burnout. We are seeking individuals who are called to fill specific positions in order that those individuals could be freed to seek their own calling. Our congregation is outreach-minded, but we would benefit from someone who can focus our efforts and provide guidance to our witnessing endeavors. We have a large tithing population, many of which provide generous offerings, but much of our budget is currently supporting our existing infrastructure. Many of our congregation struggle to establish a consistent, persistent personal prayer-life. Description of Community: Aledo, Illinois, is the county seat and geographic center of Mercer County.
