The Sanctuary Service: Meat Offering Levi7cus 2:1-16

MEAT OFFERING Minchah A gie made to a superior.

The meat offering in the sanctuary signified man s dependence upon God for all the good things of life, in recognition of Him as owner and provider. In presenting such an offering a man acknowledged himself as but a steward of the things entrusted to him S.D.A Bible Commentary Pg 719

DIFFERENCES OF OFFERINGS 1. BURNT OFFERING - A CONSECRATION OF LIFE 2. MEAT OFFERING A CONSECRATION OF MEANS

The Sanctuary Service: Peace Offering Levi7cus 3:1-16

Burnt offering sacrifice was consumed wholly Jesus sacrifice on the cross was a complete and total sacrifice. Christ held nothing back.

Meat/Grain sacrifice were sacrifices of the basic food. Jesus s sacrifice meets the basic needs of people. Bread of Life.

Peace offering expressed the benefits of taking the sacrifice into one s life. Jesus sacrifice on the cross only benefits those who believe and accept Him into their lives. John 3:16.

Sin offering expressed that Life is in the Blood. Jesus sacrifice points out that eternal life can only be found through the blood of Jesus.

Trespass offering expresses that sin creates a debt that must be paid and it is only by a sacrifice that the debt can be compensated. Jesus sacrifice paid for our sin.

We are physically detached from each other. We change places of residence frequently. One survey revealed that seven in ten do not know their neighbors. As many as one- third of Americans admit to frequent periods of loneliness... George Gallup Jr., Emerging Trends, vol. 19, no. 3

THE BIBLE ON COMMUNITY "They devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common

THE BIBLE ON COMMUNITY Selling their possessions and good, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they con7nued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. Acts 2:42-47

THE BIBLE ON COMMUNITY let us consider how to s7mulate one another and to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near. Hebrews 10:24-25

THE BIBLE ON COMMUNITY Live in harmony with one another Romans 12:16

THE BIBLE ON COMMUNITY I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought 1 Corinthians 1:10, Phillipians 4:2

THE BIBLE ON COMMUNITY Brothers, do not slander one another James 4:11

THE BIBLE ON COMMUNITY Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling 1 Peter 4:9

THE BIBLE ON COMMUNITY But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin 1 John 1:7

THE BIBLE ON COMMUNITY Carry each other s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ Gala7ans 6:2

THE BIBLE ON COMMUNITY Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else 1 Thessalonians 5:15

Peace Offering To Make up, to supply what is wan7ng, to pay a recompense An expression on the part of the offerer of his peace with God and of his thankfulness to Him for His many blessings.

Chris7ans should be the most cheerful and happy people that live. They may have the consciousness that God is their father and their everlas7ng friend But many professed Chris7ans do not correctly represent the Chris7an religion. They appear gloomy, as if under a cloud. They oeen speak of the great sacrifices they have made to become Chris7ans.

They appeal to those who have not accepted Christ, represen7ng by their own example and conversa7on that they must give up everything which would make life pleasant and joyful. They throw a pall of darkness over the blessed Chris7an hope

The impression is given that God's requirements are a burden even to the willing soul, and that everything that would give pleasure, or that would delight the taste, must be sacrificed. Messages to Young People. Pg 363.
