We invite you to enter this sanctuary with joy and reverence. We invite members and visitors to be seated near the front of the sanctuary to enhance our sense of community in worship. Please remember to silence your cell phone. RESOURCES FOR HEARING IMPAIRMENT Hearing assistance devices are available for those who have such need. Please see an usher for more information. BECOME A MEMBER OF HBBC Those who desire to join our church may come forward to where the pastor is standing during the Hymn of Commitment. If you would like to meet with a minister before making this decision, any of our ministers would be happy to answer your questions. Today as we observe the Lord s Supper we would like all believers to be able to participate; therefore, we offer gluten-free wafers in individually wrapped packets for those with dietary restrictions. Following worship, ushers will be at the doors with baskets to receive a World Hunger offering. Lent is a season for prayer, reflection, and discovery. We are calling our journey this year Wonders in the Wilderness and each week we will explore a question that Jesus asked as we join Him in His journey to Jerusalem. Our prayer is that we will wonder together with God and one another during this holy season.

UPCOMING EVENTS LONG RANGE CAPITAL PLANNING INFORMATION SESSIONS Last March our church received a report from our Long Range Capital Planning Committee. Included in this report were four recommended capital projects, all of which were received enthusiastically by our congregation. These capital planning projects include Sanctuary renovations with enlarged chancel; Kitchen expansion and Fellowship Hall improvements; Elevator to provide access to all levels in both chapel and educational buildings; Enhanced accessibility to nursery and chapel building with additional parking. Church leaders have been working diligently and now we are ready to bring an update to the congregation. Please plan to join us at one of the upcoming informational sessions listed below. These sessions will be approximately 45-minutes in length and will contain the same information. Choose the session that is most convenient for you. Wednesday, March 27 at 5:15 PM in the Hailey Classroom (Room 204) - Childcare will be available in the gym. No reservation needed. Grab your dinner at 5:00 PM and head up to the meeting or the dinner line will be open until 6:30 PM if you want to get dinner afterward. Sunday, March 31 at 9:50 AM in the Fellowship Hall - Please note that Family Sunday School for grade-schoolers is taking place at the same time. SPECIAL BUSINESS MEETING On Sunday, April 7, at 4:00 PM we will gather in the Fellowship Hall to consider recommendations to proceed with a Capital Campaign and further design work for the capital projects. The meeting will include a brief overview of the projects, time for questions, and then a vote. Please make plans to attend this meeting. Childcare will be available upon reservation with Sarah Mears (smears@hbbc.org). THE GATHERING DURING LENT Join us as we gather around the tables again during the season of Lent to have some more family discussions. Each week we will explore a question from Jesus in preparation for Sunday worship. As we Wonder in the Wilderness together, we ll discuss some questions like, What s Your Name?, Has No One Condemned You?, Why Do You Worry?, Does This Offend You?, and others. We had some great discussion during the fall and it is sure to happen again. We will begin at 6:15 PM each Wednesday night in the Fellowship Hall. Plan to join us in an intergenerational, family discussion around the table. DISASTER RELIEF MISSION TRIP April 29-May 3, our disaster relief mission trip will serve in Lumberton, NC. There is a lot of rebuilding that still needs to be done to help those that have been affected by the Hurricanes of 2018. Baptists on Mission (Baptist Men) continue this work each and every week. There is no cost for the trip as donations to Baptists on Mission cover this for volunteers. We will leave Monday morning and return on Friday afternoon; lodging will be in bunks and meals will be provided. Serving just a few days during the week is also an option. Contact Kristen Muse to sign up by April 8. MONTHLY LUNCHEON The Adult Ministries monthly luncheon will be meeting March 26 at 12 noon in the Fellowship Hall. Clyde Buckner will be the guest. Cost is $6 per person and is open to those ages 55 and up. Please RSVP to Cathy Eller (celler@hbbc.org or (919) 833-4617). PIZZA AND STORIES Clyde Buckner is a mountain man with a wonderful knack for telling stories. He will be telling some stories from a 1927 book of poems by James Weldon Johnson. Join us March 25 at 7:00 PM in the Koinonia classroom for this special time. Please sign up today. FAMILY SUNDAY SCHOOL All grade school children (1st-5th graders) and their parents are invited to join us for a special Family Sunday School on Sunday, March 31. We hope you will make plans to join us for this special time of Bible Study, games, and fellowship.
