."This was my seventh NCYC, and it never ceases to amaze me that every experience can be so different. We were given such great opportunities to hear WONDERFUL speakers and great music! What most impressed me, however, had to have been our young parishioners from the ACC. They were inspiring to watch and to be around! Their enthusiasm and joy is irreplaceable in our Church and you can just see the incredible things God is doing in their lives and the lives of those around them. I was so blessed to get to experience this NCYC with this group of teens! I want to take this opportunity to thank the parents who shared their teens with us for the weekend, and the parishioners of our Cluster who helped support us getting there! Also, thank you to all our spiritual mentors and chaperones for helping make the teens' experience as wonderful as it was!" -Kayleigh Garcia, Group Leader St. Boniface Catholic Daughters Quilt Show and Giveaway. March 11, 2018, at St. Boniface, after Mass. CDA will have quilts this year on display this weekend. The Mission Quilt group will be giving quilts to area organizations for the needy. Join us in the church basement for coffee and donuts. St. Patrick Buffalo Center Parish Life Committee will hold their monthly meal and meeting following the 6:15 PM Mass on Saturday, March 3. Please watch your email for more details. Lent should be more than a time of Fasting. It should also be a joyous season of Feasting. Lent is a time to Fast from certain things and to Feast on others. It is a season in which we should: Fast from Judging others, Feast on the Christ dwelling within them. Fast from emphasis on differences, Feast on the Unity of all life. Fast from thoughts of illness, Feast on the healing power of God. Fast from words that pollute, Feast on phrases that purify. Fast from discontent, Feast on gratitude. Fast from anger, Feast on patience. Fast from pessimism, Feast on optimism. Fast from bitterness, Feast on forgiveness. Fast from self-concern, Feast on compassion for others. Fast from discouragement, Feast on hope. Fast from suspicion, Feast on truth. Fast from thoughts that weaken, Feast on promises that inspire. WEEKLY TOTALS FEBRUARY 18, 2018 Figures not available due to icy weather conditions. From the desk of Fr, Jim There is still time to join the Revelation Bible Study. A repeat of the introductory session will be @ 2:00PM Sunday, Feb 25, at Duncan. Everyone who has not had the session, is welcome. The regular weekly session continues on Monday, February 26. Schedule: Monday, Duncan at 6:30PM. Tuesday, Forest City at 6:30PM. Thursday, Garner at 1:00PM. You only need to attend one lesson a week. I encourage all parishioners to prayerfully consider attending this special Bible Study on the Book of Revelation. The Book of Revelation is one of the most misunderstood books of the Bible for Catholics. This study will put the Catholic teaching on the book upfront. Many Catholics believe that this book supports the media s view of the Rapture that Catholics will be left behind on Earth when Jesus returns. This view is not Catholic and until about 100 years ago was not supported by most Christian churches. Please make this a special Lent and Easter season with the Archangels Catholic Cluster Bible Study on the Book of Revelation! RCIA Expand and strengthen your faith of what the Catechism of the Catholic Church really teaches, each Wednesday from 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM. This week s class, February 28, 2018, the discussion will be: Chapter 20-21. The 10 Commandments: To love God and Love Neighbor. You are invited to : WORLD DAY OF PRAYER - March 2, 2018 at 1:30 PM - Garner United Methodist Church. Looking for Ways to Pray and Fast during Lent? Look to 40 Days for Life! 40 Days for Life is a focused pro-life campaign with a vision to access God s power through prayer, fasting, and peaceful vigil to end abortion. Since the first coordinated 40 Days for Life campaign took place in 2007 through the end of 2017: 3,998 lives saved from abortion, 170 abortion workers quit their job and 90 abortion facilities closed. This is a 40 day campaign, February 14-March 25 and we are calling on people of faith across the nation and around the world to fall on their knees before the Lord, asking Him to hear our plea and heal our land. Pray outside an abortion facility. Pray at church. Pray at work. Pray in the car. Pray at home with your family. During the campaign you can receive daily devotionals that focus on Women who are at risk of having an abortion, Innocent children who are at risk of perishing, Men and women who carry the pain of a past abortion experience, Workers at Planned Parenthood facilities and abortion centers, local, regional, and national leaders, Revival and renewal in our churches, Repentance and healing throughout our nation. Visit: www.fortydaysforlife.com for more info and to sign-up for daily devotional emails and join us as we seek God s favor to turn hearts and minds from a culture of death to a culture of life, thus bringing an end to abortion. DAILY MASS CANCELLATIONS: In the event that school is delayed or cancelled due to weather conditions, the morning and noon Masses will be cancelled for the day unless weather condition allows Fr. to get there. In Garner and Forest City the priest will still celebrate Mass and if travel is safe, you are welcome to join them. Use good common sense. If school is cancelled or dismissed early due to weather conditions, the daily afternoon Masses at Duncan, Forest City, Lake Mills and Britt will be cancelled. Cancelation will be posted on the web site, for afternoon daily Masses. For funerals, only if the Mass is in the same parish as the funeral.
