Monday Morning This week we re going to look at a few Psalms, which can be described as the songs of God s people. Think about the songs our culture sings. What do they say about our society? What message is being taught? Tonight, we ll look at Psalm 1. Write out Psalm 1:1-2. - 5 -
What does the Psalmist warn us not to do in verse 1? What are some examples of this in our culture? What does it mean to delight in something? How can you delight in the law of the Lord? Think about the friends you have, what you delight in, and what you meditate on. Write a prayer to God, confessing your sin and your need for a Savior. For today: Memorize Psalm 1:1-2 - 6 -
Monday Message Psalm 1-7 -

Tuesday Morning Read through all of Psalm 1 again. Consider the illustration and imagery of the tree rooted by water. Reflect on your own walk with the Lord. Would you say you are living a life of righteousness and delighting in God s Word? What gets in the way? What do you need to change in order to avoid the way of the wicked? What steps will you take? Write a prayer to God. Give thanks to God for sending Jesus and giving us His Word. Include any concerns for you or others. - 9 -
Read Psalm 19:1-3. What does nature declare about God s character? How often does nature declare it? Read Psalm 19:7-11. What are the benefits of God s Word? Write out Psalm 19:14 and meditate on it. For today: Memorize Psalm 19:14-10 -

Wednesday Morning Reflect on God s world and His Word and how they show His unmatched glory and splendor. Consider how we tend to take for granted both the world and God s Word. Read Romans 1:18-20. What do these verses tell us about creation and our responsibility to know God? Why do people choose to not believe in God? Look at Psalm 19:7-9 again. Aside from reading the Bible, how can we tap into the benefits of God s Word that the psalmist lists? What are some ways you can dwell on God s Word more? Write a prayer based on Psalm 19:14. Thank God for revealing His glory to us through the world and His Word. Ask Him to open your eyes to His creation and to Scripture in a new way. - 13 -
Read Psalm 73:1-13. What almost caused the psalmist s feet to slip? Write out Psalm 73:25-26. Underline what stands out most to you. For today: Memorize Psalm 73:25-26 - 14 -
Wednesday Message Psalm 73-15 -
Wednesday Memories What I liked today What I didn t like today What I learned today - 16 -
Thursday Morning When are you most tempted to be bitter toward God? In light of Psalm 73, how can you combat these feelings with truth? Read verses 25-26 of Psalm 73 again. What are you placing your desires here on earth in that are not glorifying to God? Write out a prayer to God. Ask Him to help you draw closer to Him as you pray and read His Word. Think about others in your life who do not know Christ and need to hear the truth of the gospel. - 17 -
Read Psalm 95:1-11. How did the psalmist address God in verse 1? What does this tell us about God? How are we encouraged to worship God in verses 1-2? What reasons do verses 3-5 give us to worship God? Meditate on Psalm 95:6-7a (ESV) below: Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker! For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. For today: Memorize Psalm 95:6-7a - 18 -

Friday Morning Read Psalm 95:1-9 again. How do you feel about Sunday worship with other believers at church? Why are both public and private worship important? How can we keep God s greatness at the center of both our private and public worship? What distracts you most from focusing your heart on God s greatness? What is one step you might take to overcome those distractions? - 21 -
Consider the process it takes to harden one s heart to God. Think about and list some ways you can open your heart to the Lord and His plan for your life. Pray about what God would have you do. Think about God s creation and how it magnifies Him and points to a Creator. Are you worshiping the creation or the Creator? How can the splendor of creation move you to worship the Creator and honor Him as Savior and King? Humbly come before God in prayer. Ask Him to keep your heart pure and to guard you from the enemy and his distractions. Thank God for Jesus and spend some time in adoration and worship of the one true King. - 22 -

SONG LYRICS And Can It Be And can it be that I should gain An int'rest in the Savior's blood? Died He for me, who caused His pain? For me, who Him to death pursued? Amazing love! how can it be That Thou, my God, should die for me? Amazing love! how can it be That Thou, my God, should die for me! He left His Father's throne above, So free, so infinite His grace; Emptied Himself of all but love, And bled for Adam's helpless race; 'Tis mercy all, immense and free; For, O my God, it found out me. Amazing love! how can it be That Thou, my God, should die for me! Long my imprisoned spirit lay Fast bound in sin and nature's night; Thine eye diffused a quick'ning ray, I woke, the dungeon flamed with light; My chains fell off, my heart was free; I rose, went forth and followed Thee. Amazing love! how can it be That Thou, my God, should die for me! No condemnation now I dread; Jesus, and all in Him is mine! Alive in Him, my living Head, And clothed in righteousness divine, Bold I approach th'eternal throne, And claim the crown, through Christ my own. Amazing love! how can it be That Thou, my God, should die for me! Before the Throne of God Above Before the throne of God above I have a strong and perfect plea. A great high Priest whose Name is Love Who ever lives and pleads for me. My name is graven on His hands, My name is written on His heart. I know that while in Heaven He stands No tongue can bid me thence depart. No tongue can bid me thence depart. When Satan tempts me to despair And tells me of the guilt within, Upward I look and see Him there Who made an end of all my sin. Because the sinless Savior died My sinful soul is counted free. For God the just is satisfied To look on Him and pardon me. To look on Him and pardon me. Behold Him there the risen Lamb, My perfect spotless righteousness, The great unchangeable I AM, The King of glory and of grace, One in Himself I cannot die. My soul is purchased by His blood, My life is hid with Christ on high, With Christ my Savior and my God! With Christ my Savior and my God! - 24 -
Blessed Be Your Name Blessed be Your name In the land that is plentiful Where Your streams of abundance flow Blessed be Your name Blessed be Your name When I'm found in the desert place Though I walk through the wilderness Blessed be Your name Every blessing You pour out I ll Turn back to praise When the darkness closes in, Lord Still I will say Blessed be the name of the Lord Blessed be Your name Blessed be the name of the Lord Blessed be Your glorious name Blessed be Your name When the sun's shining down on me When the world's 'all as it should be' Blessed be Your name Blessed be Your name On the road marked with suffering Though there's pain in the offering Blessed be Your name You give and take away You give and take away My heart will choose to say Lord, blessed be Your name Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing Come, Thou Fount of every blessing, Tune my heart to sing Thy grace; Streams of mercy, never ceasing, Call for songs of loudest praise. Teach me some melodious sonnet, Sung by flaming tongues above. Praise His name! I m fixed upon it, Name of God s redeeming love. Hitherto Thy love has blessed me; Thou hast brought me to this place; And I know Thy hand will bring me Safely home by Thy good grace. Jesus sought me when a stranger, Wandering from the fold of God; He, to rescue me from danger, Bought me with His precious blood. Oh to grace how great a debtor Daily I m constrained to be! Let Thy goodness, like a fetter, Bind my wand ring heart to Thee: Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, Prone to leave the God I love; Here s my heart, oh take and seal it; Seal it for Thy courts above. Oh that day when, freed from sinning, I shall see Thy lovely face; Full arrayed in blood-washed linen, How I ll sing Thy sovereign grace. Come, my Lord, no longer tarry; Bring Thy promises to pass! For I know Thy pow r will keep me Till I m home with Thee at last. - 25 -
How Deep the Father s Love How deep the Father s love for us, How vast beyond all measure, That He should give His only Son To make a wretch His treasure. How great the pain of searing loss - The Father turns His face away, As wounds which mar the Chosen One Bring many sons to glory. Behold the man upon a cross, My sin upon His shoulders; Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice Call out among the scoffers. It was my sin that held Him there Until it was accomplished; His dying breath has brought me life - I know that it is finished. I will not boast in anything, No gifts, no power, no wisdom; But I will boast in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection. Why should I gain from His reward? I cannot give an answer; But this I know with all my heart - His wounds have paid my ransom. Jesus Shall Reign Where er the Sun Jesus shall reign where er the sun Does its successive journeys run; His kingdom spread from shore to shore, Till moons shall wax and wane no more. He shall reign in glory, crowned with grace and might Bless His name and praise our sovereign King. He shall reign forever with His chosen Bride, And all the earth shall sing that Jesus is the King. People and realms of every tongue Dwell on His love with sweetest song; And infant voices shall proclaim Their early blessings on His Name. Let every creature rise and bring His grateful honors to our King; Angels descend with songs again, And earth repeat the loud amen! Jesus Thank You The mystery of the cross I cannot comprehend The agonies of Calvary You the perfect Holy One, crushed Your Son Who drank the bitter cup reserved for me Your blood has washed away my sin -- Jesus, thank You The Father s wrath completely satisfied -- Jesus, thank You Once Your enemy, now seated at Your table Jesus, thank You By Your perfect sacrifice I ve been brought near Your enemy You ve made Your friend Pouring out the riches of Your glorious grace Your mercy and Your kindness know no end Lover of my soul I want to live for You - 26 -

There Is A Fountain There is a fountain filled with blood Drawn from Emmanuel s veins And sinners plunged beneath that flood Lose all their guilty stains Lose all their guilty stains Lose all their guilty stains And sinners plunged beneath that flood Lose all their guilty stains The dying thief rejoiced to see That fountain in his day And there have I, though vile as he, Washed all my sins away Washed all my sins away Washed all my sins away And there have I, though vile as he, Washed all my sins away Dear dying Lamb, Thy precious blood Shall never lose its pow r Till all the ransomed church of God Be saved, to sin no more Be saved, to sin no more Be saved, to sin no more Till all the ransomed church of God Be saved, to sin no more When this poor lisping, stammering tongue Lies silent in the grave Then in a nobler, sweeter song, I ll sing Thy pow r to save I ll sing Thy pow r to save I ll sing Thy pow r to save Then in a nobler, sweeter song, I ll sing Thy pow r to save What A Savior Man of Sorrows what a name For the Son of God, Who came Ruined sinners to reclaim! Hallelujah Bearing shame and scoffing rude, In my place condemned he stood, Sealed my pardon with His blood: Hallelujah, Hallelujah Savior, You showed Your love Defeated our sin, poured out Your blood So we praise You, Lamb that was slain We offer our lives to proclaim What a Savior! Guilty, vile, and helpless, we; Spotless Lamb of God was He; Full atonement, can it be? Hallelujah Lifted up was He to die, It is finished, was His cry; Now in heaven exalted high Hallelujah, Hallelujah By the power of Christ within, Now we strive against our sin Seeking rest to enter in Hallelujah When He comes our glorious King, All His ransomed home to bring Then anew this song we ll sing Hallelujah, Hallelujah - 28 -
