The Beacon Volume 44 December 20, 2017 Number 4 A Monthly Publication of First Baptist Church of New Boston www.fbcnewboston.com JANUARY BIBLE STUDY Sunday Nights @ 6 p.m. starting January 7 Starting January 7th and running through February 11th we will be having a special January Bible Study through the book of 1 Peter. The study will take the place of our Evening Services during that time. We will meet in the Fellowship Hall at 6p.m. around tables. There will be coffee and light refreshments. The Study will be lead by our staff. If you would like to order a personal study book, please let Rick know. The cost for the book is $10.

From your Church Staff READ THE NEW TESTAMENT THROUGH THE YEAR! Start the New Year off right, by committing to read the New Testament through this year. It only takes 5 minutes a day and 5 days a week. You can pick up your reading plan on the ledge in the Vestibule. You can also find a digital copy of this plan on the YouVersion app (Just search for 5x5x5). If you prefer reading through the whole Bible in a year, we have some of those plans available as well. We will only have morning services on this day. OFFERING ENVELOPES FOR 2018 The 2018 offering envelopes are available on tables in the hallways. These will be available through December 31st. Please take a box for each member of your family and use them to ensure that your contributions are properly credited. This year our Kids will be going to Lakeview July 11-14! More Details coming soon! YOUth Camp June 11-16 We are going to FUGE in Mobile Alabama! Call the church office for sign up info HAPPENINGS January 17th 11:00 A.M. Bring your favorite soup or soup sides or a dessert. For 2018 We successfully completed 2017 with 542 boxes. We will begin again in January collecting items for the boxes and money for shopping. We can order the plastic boxes from Samaritan Purse which are extremely sturdy but will need donations to cover the cost. We will begin our sewing again on the 4th Thursday (January 26th) from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30p.m. As we go along, we will go to two days a month. Thank you all for being such a loving, generous church body. We are touching lives with this ministry.
