WORSHIP F.Y.I. : Father David Aufiero will be away in Peru February 6 28 th for Spanish emersion Sister Melinda will be away February 11 March 11 for retreat Are you familiar with the Holy Name Prayer Line? It is a group of 30+ parishioners (called the Prayer Line Partners) who pray for anyone who is in need of prayers for any reason. It could be an illness, loss of a loved one, etc., or a special intention. We invite you to share your prayer needs by calling Ann at the rectory (733-5823). You don t even have to give us your name just who (first name only, or you can say a woman, a man, a parishioner) the group would pray for and a very brief reason (i.e., surgery, illness, special intention, etc.) for the request. We compile a daily list (Monday through Friday) and email it to the partners who have emails, and it is called in to those who do this by phone (first person calls the second, and so on). New partners always welcome. Please contact Ann at the rectory, 733-5823, with your interest. We encourage you to clip and save the prayers for future worship. Prayer for the Elderly Remember Your people, O Lord, especially those to whom you have given the gift of long life. Reward them now for the good they have accomplished in the past; forgive them for their failings. Make their last days happy, and give them Your grace that they may continue to grow through the challenges of their later years. Bring them and all Your children to everlasting life with You. Amen STEWARDSHIP Collections for January 26 & 27, 2019 total $8,782.62 We appreciate your kindness and support!! SANDWICH MINISTRY DONATIONS UPDATE. We thank everyone who has donated food items to the Holy Cross Sandwich Ministry for the homeless. Since Sr. Melinda is away at retreat February 11 March 11, we ask that you hold on to any donations that you have and bring them in the weekend after she returns (which would be March 16 & 17.) Again, thanks very much for your past and future support!

0907 Page 4 The OPEN PANTRY is very much in need of the following food items (their shelves are more empty than they should be at this time) - Oatmeal or Hot Cereal, Peanut Butter, Canned meats and Spaghetti Sauce But please, we ask that you do not bring any: Perishables of any kind (bread, potatoes, fresh vegetables, etc.) Pick-ups are not done every week, so any items like this will go bad. Partially used/opened items Also, please check expiration dates. We cannot give them items that have expired. Thank you very much for whatever you are able to donate! SERVICE Congratulations to Sandra Sandy Hines, Holy Name Parish 2019 Micah Award Recipient Service and Faith are like breathing to me. These words have been a beacon of inspiration throughout Sandy s life of service. The grace to which she dedicates her faith and service was instilled in her at an early age. Sandy gives credit to her parents and family who helped to instill in her a dedication to her prayer and love of neighbor. It was not the abundance in material wealth that was important in our family; my father explained that he and his wife s legacy to their children was twofold: it was our Catholic faith and education. Frances and John had nine children, seven children survived. Grief changed the family to pray and to let God do what God does best: love and support. Their lessons of love influenced the ministry that Sandy has embraced throughout her life. Sandy accompanies women during the births of their children. When these women are in the depths of deep pain I am there for them. Sandy shares her story of her marriage to Cornelius, his death and the death of their son with others. My husband, Cornelius, taught me unconditional love. Within a year and a half of my marriage I was a childless widow. Sandy lives the prophetic message of the Prophet Micah: to do justice love, mercy and walk humbly with your God. Sandy s community activism Pioneer Valley Mass Citizens for Life, her outreach to the homebound, her forty four years in education, as a Eucharistic Minister, a counselor for the Women s Center, working with the Police Sector C on neighborhood and community issues, accompanying and supporting people suffering from addiction ; Sandy s service, faith and love breathes throughout everything she embraces. We, at Holy Name, are truly blessed by the breath of her committed, dedicated service toward others in need.

0907 Page 5 Concerning Hospital Visits If someone in your family is in the hospital and you want to have Fr. David, Fr. Joyce or Sister Melinda visit, please call the rectory at 733-5823 and leave a message for either father or Sr. Melinda, (ext. 130). Unfortunately, a parishioner s name is not always on the daily list of Holy Name patients; so we ask that you give us a call with the information (name, which building, room #, etc.). This way you or your loved one will be assured of a visit. Note: Fr. David Aufiero is away February 6-28 & Sr. Melinda is away February 11-March 11.
