Name Address Age Date of Birth Class Teacherʼs Name level Bible Searching In The Gospel of Luke Lesson No. The Lost Sheep Read Luke 5: -7 Key Verse Luke 5: 7 The Lord Jesus told this story to show that we are all like the lost sheep because we have strayed away from God by doing wrong things. The Bible calls the wrong things we do SIN. The Lord Jesus spent a lot of His time on earth talking to sinners. The religious leaders of the Jews found fault with Him for mixing with these people. Take the first letter of each object to find out who the religious leaders were in Jesus day The shepherd in the Bible Reading had lost only one sheep. He still had ninety-nine. He could have said, I ve got ninety-nine sheep. Why bother about one silly little sheep? But no, out he went over the rocky paths and bushes, searching here, there and everywhere until he found it. Write out a verse from the Bible Reading which goes with this picture. Bibletime

Level Lesson The religious leaders in the time of Jesus didn t care about the people who were lost sinners. They only cared about themselves. They thought they were so good that they had nothing to be sorry about. The Lord Jesus loves sinners; that includes you and me. The Bible calls Him the Good Shepherd because He was prepared to give His life for the sheep. It is because He died on the cross that we can pray to Him, admitting all the things we ve done wrong. When we are truly sorry for them, He will forgive us. In what way did the shepherd treat his sheep when he had found it? Underline the right answer.. He beat it with a stick.. He cooked it for supper.. He carried it home. 4. He left it where it was. What did the shepherd say to his friends when he got home? (v. 6) Write out the Key Verse. NOW DO THIS CROSSWORD 4 5 6 5 7 8 Clues Down. The man called these together.. He told the story. 4. One who needs to repent. 5. The number of sheep he had. Clues Across. Level Lesson No. The Lost Son Lesson Read Luke 5: -4 Key Verse Luke 5: 8 Please put your name here The Lord Jesus told another story, to help the people understand that when they had done wrong they must return to God and be truly sorry. This story is about two sons. For what did the younger son ask his father? What did the son then do? WORD SEARCH YOUNGER RTEEKNS TWO Z P I P NZM I I ME UBL TGAN OWX I S F T CQV CO UN Answer these questions to help you follow what happened in the story. Then circle the answers in the Word Search; they are hidden up, down, and backwards.. How many sons did the father have? T. Which son left home? The y. Where did he go when he left home? A far-away c 4. What did he do with his money? He s it all. 5. What happened in the land? A f 6. For whom did he work? A c 7. What animals did he look after? P 7 In the far country he wasted his money and because of a shortage of food he had to get a job. Put a check by the job he had to do. Looking after sheep Looking after pigs Collecting taxes

Level Lesson Have you ever done anything wrong and felt bad about it? We ve already learned that the Bible calls the things we do wrong, SIN. The best thing to do is to own up and tell God how sorry we are about the wrong we have done. The son in the Bible Reading knew he was in this situation because he had sinned. He felt very sorry about what he had done. What did he plan to say when he arrived home? Write out the Key Verse. The runaway has returned! Answer YES or NO to the following statements:- The father was very angry when he saw his son again. The father ran to meet his son. The father was very happy to see his son again. The father told his son he wasn t welcome anymore. 4 The father forgave his younger son for all he had done wrong. What did the son receive that showed his father had forgiven him?... Fill in the missing words to discover what he told his servants. FOUND ALIVE DEAD LOST This is my son that was and is again. He was and is. This story is a picture of God s love for us. The Lord Jesus took the punishment for all our sin when He died on the cross. He wants us to come to Him, being truly sorry for our sins, and forsaking them. Then He will FORGIVE and WELCOME us into God s family. For teacher s remarks 0

Level Lesson No. The Darkest Day Lesson Read Luke : -6, and -49 Key Verse Luke : 47 Please put your name here When a famous person comes to visit your town, crowds of people line the route he is taking to wave and cheer. You would be very surprised if the crowds in the next town yelled and shouted for him to be killed. Yet something like that happened to the Lord Jesus. Many crowds had eagerly followed Him, listened to Him and been healed by Him. But now a crowd in Jeruselem were crying out that He should die. Who did it? Draw straight lines from each question to the right person. Whom did Pilate call together? Whom did the people want released? The Leaders Who sentenced Jesus to death? Who carried Jesus cross? Barabbas Who said that Jesus had done no wrong? (Two answers - draw two lines for this one.) Pilate Who asked Jesus to remember him? Simon Who was a murderer? The thief 8 Pilate, the Roman governor who was in charge of the trial of Jesus, wanted to release Jesus, but each time the crowd shouted out the same thing. What did they shout? Pilate gave in to the people and the Lord Jesus was led away to be put to death. How awful! He had never sinned. He did not deserve to die. He is the Son of God and could have broken free from the soldiers at any time and saved Himself, but He chose not to. Why? His love for you was so great that He was willing to die on the cross for your sins to save you from God s punishment. He died for you! Have you ever thanked Him?

Level Lesson How many others were crucified at the same time as Jesus? Cross out the wrong words in the following statements:- When He was crucified Jesus said, Father, forgive / punish / destroy them. The rulers who watched Him, wept for / prayed for / derided (sneered at ) Him. The soldiers came to Him and offered Him bread / water / vinegar. One of the thieves realized that the Lord Jesus was the only One who could forgive him. He died knowing that he would go to Heaven to be with the Lord Jesus. For how long was it dark? What happened while it was dark? (See verse 45.) Write down the last words that Jesus spoke. A Roman officer, called a centurion, was standing by. He had seen and heard all that had happened during this time. Write down what he said about the Lord Jesus. Using the Bible Reading and the lesson, write IN YOUR OWN WORDS why the Lord Jesus died. For teacher s remarks 0

Level Lesson 4 Lesson No. 4 The Brightest Day Read Luke : 55-56 and Luke 4: - Key Verse Luke 4: 6 Please put your name here They were sad. Perhaps they were weeping as they quietly made their way through the sleeping city. Jesus, their Friend, was dead. Dawn was breaking and the women had an important task ahead of them. Write down the names of three of the women: Fill in the spaces below with the correct words from the Bible Reading. The women were going to the They were taking to anoint the body of the They found the rolled away from the 5 Imagine their surprise when they found the tomb empty! What was the meaning of it? While they were wondering about it, suddenly they heard a voice. Who spoke to the women? What had happened to the Lord Jesus? Answer TRUE or FALSE:- He had never really died. The women had gone to the wrong place. His body had been stolen.

Level Lesson What does the Key Verse say had actually happened? What a day! The women changed from being very sad to being very happy. They couldn t wait to tell the disciples the good news. How did the disciples react to what the women told them? One disciple decided to find out for himself. What was his name? What did he do? What did he see? What was his reaction as he left? Later on in the day the Lord Jesus came to the disciples and they knew without any doubt that He was truly alive. Although we cannot see the Lord Jesus today, because He has gone back to Heaven, we believe that He is alive because the Bible tells us that He rose from the dead. 4 So the Lord Jesus is alive! What difference should this make to the way you live? When you have completed these lessons you will be sent other Bibletime lessons and you will now need a Bible. Do you have a Bible?
