August 14, 2016 3 WORSHIP NOTES TODAY JAMES: Real Life/Real Faith Today, we finish a 12-part message series on James by looking at the last verses of the final chapter: James 5:13-20. James concludes his letter with a call to praying in faith; each circumstance of life is a time to pray: trouble, happiness, and sickness -- all are an occasion for prayer and worship (5:13). The Sacrament of Baptism Today, we celebrate with Vicki & Jesse Watson who are bringing their daughter, ALLEIGH W, forward to receive God s Promises through the Sacrament of Baptism. May God give you His wisdom and guidance as you seek Him in raising up your daughter to follow Him NEXT WEEK Guest Preacher: David B David B is the President and Broadcast Minister for Words of Hope, a radio ministry on behalf of our denomination, the Reformed Church in America. David has served Words of Hope since 1994 after serving as a pastor for 18 years in congregations in the RCA. He is the author of several devotional books and edits the Words of Hope daily devotional. David and his wife, Betty Jo, have four children and four grandchildren. Pray for this time of transition for them. Continue to pray for peace for those who mourn. Pray for willing workers to step in to fill the need for Sunday School teachers, Little Lamb leaders, Youth leaders, and College Care givers. May all the campers at Camp Shalom experience good and lasting friendships based on the sharing of Christ's love. August 14, 2016 9 College Students Wanted: Now that our students are heading back to school, we would like to get our College Care Giver program started. We have placed a student profile sheet in the mail-slots of all parents who potentially have a child in college or university. If we didn t put a student profile sheet in your mail-slot and you have a post-secondary student in your home, please let us know as we do not want anyone to miss out on this great program. College Care Givers Needed: We are looking for members of our congregation who would like to become a College Care Giver. It is not a big job and only requires a small amount of your time. As a College Care Giver you will be paired up with a College/University student from our church and care for them throughout the year through prayer, cards, notes of encouragement, small gifts, etc...
