A letter from the Kingdom Expansion Pastor God sent the Church into the world, as part of His redemptive mission to restore and heal creation. God s mission is not only to Christians but to the entire world. The Bible serves as a narrative to help us know our role in the world. It conveys God s hope for humanity and His dreams of what life in the Kingdom looks like. It causes us to see the disparity between our world as it is, and the world He wants for us. God s plan is for us to reach those who do not know Him, wherever they may be. Jesus said to His disciples, Seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness and all of these things will be added to you. So I want to encourage you to pursue, chase after, and make it your life s ambition to seek His Kingdom! In order to create a platform for you to serve in an area that you are passionate, we have divided our ministry over five Kingdom causes - Reach, Care, Development, Justice, and Leaders. There are endless opportunities for you to engage in one of these focus areas. God s Plan For YOU! Kingdom living is about God changing us, so that we can help impact the world around us for His glory. We believe that God uniquely gifts and impassions people to accomplish specific Kingdom assignments while here on earth. You are a unique individual, endowed with many special qualities that God can use for His purposes. God s call to ministry is not limited to a few saintly Christians who are deeply committed to pray, sacrifice, and serve, while others live normal lives in a secular society. A call to Kingdom ministry doesn t necessarily mean leaving your job, but rather incorporating it into your job or free time. We desire to come alongside you in discovering your personal mission. While many opportunities are available through Hosanna!, if you feel called to do something new, need guidance, or want to discover God s call for you, we d love to dream with you, and see how it can become a reality! Kingdom Expansion - Pastor Tim Hatt 3 4

Kingdom Reach Jesus went everywhere preaching the Good News of the Kingdom. At that time, Jewish people did not perceive their religion as Good News. They felt condemned and weighed down by all the laws. They could never do enough. It is the same with the major religions today Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and sometimes even Christianity. It is our desire to deliver a message of the goodness of God through blessings, teaching life-giving truths, prayer for healing and deliverance, and knowledge of their forgiveness in Jesus Christ. It s about teaching the Kingdom and demonstrating it. This team needs people who want to see the Good News reach people in Lakeville, at the second campus, urban partnerships, and to the ends of the earth! Does the thought of people coming into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ excite you? Are you stirred that over 2 billion people on the planet have never once had an opportunity to hear about our loving God? If so, you may be carrying a heart for Kingdom Reach where people all over the world will be given an opportunity to have a personal encounter with the living, loving God through Jesus! You can advance His Kingdom through Kingdom Reach! Kingdom Care God desires everyone to experience physical, emotional, and spiritual wholeness. We are created in God s image, and designed to reflect that image well, even in the midst of difficulties. We look to Jesus as the source of all care, healing, and comfort. Kingdom Care desires to see God s people experience the fullness of life that Jesus died for. It starts with the Kingdom leaders and radiates out to Hosanna s internal, local, urban, and international partnerships and ministries. Kingdom Care exists to strengthen the church by helping Christians live out their full potential of impact in their area of interest and passion. This team seeks to provide encouragement and refreshment to those who are physically, spiritually, or emotionally depleted. Do you find yourself drawn by compassion to those who need love and restoration? Do you desire to see people live and serve God to their full potential? HEART (Hosanna! Emergency Action Response Team) Missionary Care Teams Restoration Ministry (Isaiah 61) Kingdom Care If so, you may be carrying a heart for Kingdom Care where individuals, teams, and ministries are able to receive encouragement and restoration for the sake of making an impact for God! You can advance His Kingdom through Kingdom Care! Care for Leaders 7 8 Kingdom Care

Kingdom Development For maximum impact, it is crucial to address community-wide needs. We want to take a social, holistic approach to address short-comings in physical, emotional, economic, and spiritual arenas. We desire to see people living in communities, thriving and fulfilling their God-given potential! Education We accomplish this by assessing current strengths and weaknesses, and helping local leaders to remove barriers that may have held their community in bondage to poverty, perhaps for generations. When done well, there can be community transformation that can honor God. Do you have a skill or knowledge base that could help a community? Do you want to help with long-range plans that make a significant impact? Do you prefer to help make lasting changes rather than short-term handouts? If so, you may be carrying a heart for Kingdom Development where God s heart to bless nations in a renewable and sustainable way is deliberately realized. It s about empowering people to become all they can be. You can advance His Kingdom through Kingdom Development! Kingdom Justice In today s society, justice has become a trendy term with many meanings. However, the need for justice is more important than ever. It s not just about equality of rights, but it s about the value of human life, and the dignity that people deserve despite gender, age, race, or class. The Bible makes it clear that God has a special interest in the welfare of those at the lowest end of the social ladder, especially women and children. Vulnerables Trafficking Do you weep when you consider millions of children barely surviving in forced labor or prostitution? Does your heart ache for widows and orphans who exist tenuously in their vulnerable conditions? Do you feel saddened by the lack of safe and stable homes for children? Exploitation If so, you may be carrying a heart for Kingdom Justice which seeks to give dignity and protection to all who are being taken advantage of. You can advance His Kingdom through Kingdom Justice! Prostitution Widows Kingdom Justice Orphans Kingdom Justice 11 12

Kingdom Leaders We desire to see communities of faith where Godly leadership is modeled, developed, and making an impact. We want to see Christians equipped as Holy Spirit-led leaders who carry the fullness of the Kingdom because of radical transformation in their life. Leaders that demonstrate Godly character, and in turn recognize and inspire more Godly leaders around them. They understand what it means to be in the family of God, know their identity as sons and daughters of the King, and have a deep level of intimacy with God. We invest in current and future Kingdom leaders, both locally and internationally and learn from communities and partnerships who already exemplify these characteristics. The Well Investment > Kingdom Leaders Strategic Businesses Does the thought of a new generation of leaders rising up to change the world exhilarate you? Does the pressing need of the world for deep and sustained transformation confirm in your mind and heart the need for Godly, skilled, and anointed leaders in our church, homes, businesses, and community? Do you have a desire to help others be Kingdom-minded, live out their purpose, and impact their environments for God? If so, you may be carrying the heart to see Kingdom Leaders come into their own and rule in the Kingdom that Jesus is bringing! You can advance His Kingdom through Kingdom Leaders! 13 Apostolic Teams 14 7 Mountains > Entertainment, Business, Education, Family, Government, Media, and Religion Kingdom Leaders Leadership Equipping Opportunities Kingdom Leaders

15 16 The Big 3 Focus Areas Hosanna! chose three focus areas that intentionally incorporate activities in all five cause areas. These Big 3 receive our priority in both investment and support because of their strategic nature. ETHIOPIA Mission: To rebuild communities and families, and restore individuals to wholeness in Jesus. We have developed a partnership with leaders in Hosanna, Ethiopia. Our focus includes: We have helped to provide a safe place to live and learn the love of Christ for 80 former prostitute women. Our intent is to restore them back to what God created them to be by teaching them a trade to support their families. Hosanna! families sponsor 301 orphans and street children from the Hosanna area, through Children s Hope Chest. Through this, we are transforming the community, and changing the destiny of children. Through Ethiopian orphans, street women, pastors, and church members, we build up leaders and support them in ministry. We desire to build strong relations with the police department as they seek to bring the Light of Jesus to the community. We aspire to model love and to bring restoration to the individual, the families, and community. INDIA Mission: Embrace the untouchables of India, equip church leaders, and empower vulnerable women. Through a partnership with Hosanna! missionaries, we support the work of: Helping the underprivileged develop lifelong skills who in turn begin to invest into their communities. Drilling wells for the purpose of providing safe drinking water to high risk areas who are denied current access to wells. Developing and training local church leaders. Contributing to the radical change in the lives of the poorest classes of India. HEART (Hosanna! Emergency Action Response Team) Mission: Sharing the heart and hope of Christ in times of crisis. HEART is focused on restoring God s Kingdom, one disaster at a time, through individuals, churches, businesses, and communities. HEART was developed to formalize the response Hosanna! would take when disaster or crisis impacts God s people and to assist people and communities to respond and recover from crisis and disaster. Additionally, as we minister to those who are hurting, we have the opportunity to share the good news of Jesus Christ. This team is comprised of leaders in various areas of expertise, as well as frontline responders. We desire to provide assistance with shelter, food, love, purpose, and most importantly Jesus!

...for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Discovering YOUR Passion What do you love to do? When do you lose track of time? What brings you joy? What burdens your heart? If money was not a factor, what would you do? Combine your talents and gifts. How do they intersect? How can you translate that into ministry? Listen humbly to your Christian friends. What do they see you doing? Look for the common threads. What do friends and family ask you to repeatedly help them with? Your options might be inside or outside of Hosanna! (through other ministries/organizations), or you might be starting a new initiative based on your unique gifting and passion areas. Next Steps Spend adequate time evaluating what you are sensing. Be patient. Realize that clarity may take time. Seek affirmation of your calling from others. Involve your family in the discussion and decision. Participate in GROWLink.
