Building Campaign & Annual Commitment to Parish Life Loving God, at this time in the life of our parish, we turn to you with grateful hearts, for what we have, and with grateful anticipation of what is yet to be. We believe our goals are rooted in Your Word and in Your Work. Help us to grow through the power of your Holy Spirit that we may lead lives marked by prayer, service and generous sharing of all we have. Please guide us, strengthen us, and bless us with Your Presence, now and through the years to come. Amen. We need to create a new vision of what the Catholic Church is within the walls of the church as well as within the community. We need to draw in new families, youth, young adults, and seniors to keep our parish growing and thriving. Our facilities need to support our mission today and for the generations that we pray will follow us. Fr. Don Thimm We are hopeful that Parish Members will see that by growing our Parish and growing our outreach we will strengthen our commitment to our community. The change in the physical structure will enhance our preparation for prayer, the way we gather to support our various ministries, and to grow our community outreach as the need arises. A vibrant prayer community will encourage community members to take a look and see what the buzz is all about. Mike and Lynn Giffhorn Campaign Chairs

Three-year Commitment to our Building Campaign The proposed building project consists of multiple components listed below. Church East Expansion Estimated Cost: $4 million Our Parish Need We lack an appropriate sized gathering space to form and strengthen our relationships with one another. We have over fifty ministries serving our parish. We lack sufficient meeting space for our ministry needs. We lack adequate and accessible space for the work of our parish staff. We need a more inviting presence on National Avenue. Our A/V (audio /visual) tools need updating. Our baptismal font currently is located in a less prominent location towards the back of the church. The Proposed Project Church East Expansion will create a welcoming, inviting gathering space. Church East Expansion will provide additional, flexible, multi-purpose meeting spaces. Church East Expansion will provide new offices on the second floor. Church East Expansion will result in a two-story, architecturally pleasing building easily visible from National Avenue. Enhanced video & audio systems will be installed in the worship space and new gathering space. The baptismal font will be repurposed and relocated in a more prominent place in our worship space. School Enhancements Estimated Cost: $600,000 How the Project Supports our Parish Mission We experience Christ in our lives in relationship with one another. Our new gathering space will provide a space to connect with one another after Masses, weddings, funeral visitations, and other parish functions. Our new meeting spaces will meet the needs of our ministries that serve our mission (e.g. faith formation, youth, elderly, service projects, social events and community events). Our staff serves to support our mission. The new offices will be more accessible to our parishioners via an elevator, and will enhance staff efficiency and effectiveness. The building expansion will provide a more open and inviting presence on National Avenue that will attract and draw people to our parish community. By upgrading our video & audio technology capabilities, we will enhance our worship and formation activities. A more prominent location of the baptismal font will remind us all of our own baptism, and the importance that baptism plays in our life and the life of the parish. Our Parish Need The Proposed Project How the Project Supports our Parish Mission Fire protection sprinkler systems are needed in our school and church. Classrooms for 3K and 4K. Required sprinkler systems will be installed in the school and worship space. Create additional classroom space in the school by remodeling existing space. Adoration Chapel Estimated Cost: $225,000 Fire protection, required by the city, insures the safety of all those who utilize our school and church. This, along with other renovations, will allow for future school expansion to accommodate growth, including our 3K and 4K school programs. By offering additional learning opportunities for 3 and 4 year-olds in our school, we are able to assist parents raise their children and build a connection to our parish. Our Parish Need The Proposed Project How the Project Supports our Parish Mission An Adoration Chapel. Space near the current West entrance of the church will be able to provide an intimate, secure Adoration Chapel. Adoration is a continuation of our Eucharistic celebration. It provides an opportunity for prayer and adoration in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament. A chapel creates an environment for quiet intimacy with the Lord in an accessible, appropriate sized, and secure setting. Basement Space as part of Church East Expansion Estimated Cost: $755,000 for shell/$860,000 to finish (this project would be considered if funding becomes available) Our Parish Need The Proposed Project How the Project Supports our Parish Mission There is a growing demand for parish space for meetings and events on our church campus. Inclusion of a basement below the new Church East Expansion provides future space to serve the parish needs. A basement would provide future space to expand and grow our parish ministries. 2 Building Campaign & Annual Commitment to Parish Life Holy Apostles Catholic Parish

Sharing Together Our goal is to raise as much of the proposed building cost as possible. We seek Building Campaign commitments this fall, payable over the next three years. All funds received will stay at Holy Apostles to fund our building project. Raising these building project funds means we need all parishioners to prayerfully consider the largest gift possible, over and above current regular contributions to the parish. As you ponder your response, please keep in mind that this campaign is so much more than raising funds for our building project. It is about securing the future of the great treasures we hold close to our hearts our faith and our parish and our desire to hand on these precious gifts to our children for generations to come. May God lead you as you pray over your decision. The Invitation To Give Please consider the following Invitation to Give: Matching Existing Giving We ask you to prayerfully consider matching (doubling) your current regular giving over the next three years. For example, if your current regular offerings are $15 per week ($780 a year), would you consider giving an additional $15 per week to the Building Campaign over the next three years, for a total commitment of $2,340? We will generously support this campaign because we believe that the enthusiasm we show for change will ignite the spirit in others. We are the Church. If we are stagnant and complacent, so will be the church. If we are energetic and accepting to change, so will be the church. Tim and Heather Borchardt Pacesetter Gift We ask those who are in a position to give more to prayerfully consider making a pacesetter gift of $3,000 to $20,000 to our Building Campaign over the next three years. Legacy Gift We invite those who have been financially blessed to prayerfully consider a legacy gift of $20,000 to $200,000 or more to our Building Campaign. Holy Apostles means so much to our faith journey and relationship with God. If we are able to attract new people and give their lives a deeper spiritual meaning, then the financial investment will seem priceless. We are so hopeful that the entire parish community shares with us the necessity to continuously improve and evolve, thus assuring the ability to meet the needs of many generations that follow. Michael Behring Holy Apostles Catholic Parish Building Campaign & Annual Commitment to Parish Life 5

Revised Conceptual Site Plan Just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. Colossians 2:6,7 MARCH 16, 2015 The conceptual plans that follow intend to convey the scope of the project. These are not finalized drawings. More discussion and dialog will take place as we move forward with this building planning process. 6 Building Campaign & Annual Commitment to Parish Life Holy Apostles Catholic Parish

Annual Commitment to Parish Life Stewardship Commitment for 2016 Your Commitment to Parish Life for 2016 will allow us to continue to grow and strengthen our ministries of worship, Christian formation, and outreach. Please consider increasing your current level of giving. As we grow in our giving, we further strengthen the parish s ability to fund our current ministries, and open the door to new possibilities to be Disciples of Christ Growing to Serve, Rooted in Faith. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17 YOUR 2016 COMMITMENT TO PARISH LIFE Simply put, through your financial support & prayers we are able to fulfill our parish mission: As Disciples Of Christ We give thanks and praise to God We study the Word of God We serve God We go and make disciples! Through you, we continue to provide a beautiful environment to celebrate Mass and receive the Holy Eucharist. Through you, our youth are learning and growing in Christ through our School and Christian Formation programs. Through you, our adults continue to journey in faith, nurtured by our Adult Faith Formation opportunities. Through you, we have a wonderful parish staff that serves and supports our many varied church and school ministries. Through you, our pastoral & outreach ministries provide loving Christian care for the whole person body, mind and spirit. WE ARE BLESSED AND CALLED! Stewardship is about our relationship with God and with one another. To live as a follower of Jesus Christ is to understand our relationship to creation and to the abundant gifts which God has blessed us with. We are stewards, not owners; we are disciples, not the master. We are called to care for others and for the world we share. We are called to share with a willing heart, filled with love and gratitude for the abundance we have been given. Commitment Weekend November 14-15 On Commitment Weekend everyone is invited to bring their completed response forms to Mass where they will be received in a special way. If you cannot be with us on November 14-15, please bring your response envelope to Mass the following Sunday, or return it to the parish office as soon as possible. May your response be made with joy and thanksgiving for all that you treasure here at Holy Apostles. 16000 West National Avenue New Berlin, WI 53151-5599 www.hanb.org
