1 Chron 29:6-16 Who was grateful? David and leaders of Israel Why were they grateful? From a loyal heart they had offered willingly to the Lord What was done to express their gratitude? Words were used to express glory, honor and power with thanksgiving unto the Lord!
Luke 17:11-19 Who was grateful? One of the ten lepers Why was he grateful? He saw that he was healed! What was done to express his gratitude? with a loud voice he glorified God, and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks
Rom 6:17-18 Who should be grateful? Those who were slaves of sin Why should they be grateful? Through obedience you have been set free from sin What should be done to express our gratitude? Becoming slaves unto righteousness!
What happened to Gentiles who were ungrateful to God? (Romans 1:21-25) God gave them up! What does Paul say about worry and thanksgiving? (Phil 4:6) Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God
The art of showing gratitude and thanksgiving is thanks-living! thanking God for the gift of life and living it triumphantly (resisting the devil) thanking God for your talents and abilities by accepting them as obligations to be invested for the good of others (get busy) thanking God for opportunities by accepting them as a challenge to achievement (I m not ashamed) thanking God by giving your hands, arms, legs and voice to your thankful spirit! (sacrifice)
Conclusion: Hebrews 13:12-16 ESV So Jesus also suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify the people through his own blood. Therefore let us go to him outside the camp and bear the reproach he endured. For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come. Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name. Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.
