Responsive Reading " Thanks Be Unto God!" (NIV) Phil. 4:6; Ps.17:7; Col. 3:15,16,17; Heb. 13:15-16; I Cor.15:57 Minister: Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Congregation: I will give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High. Minister: Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace; and be thankful. Congregation: Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. Minister: And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. All: Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise - the fruit of lips that confess his name. And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with sacrifices God is pleased. Minister: Thanks be to God! Who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus. 3

OUR WEEKLY MEDITATIVE SCRIPTURE The weekly meditation scriptures are designed to strengthen, encourage, and to help build your faith. To get the most out of these weekly scriptures, we encourage you to keep them before your eyes and meditate {mutter} daily on them, applying them to your everyday life's circumstances until you get results. Living a Life of Thanksgiving to the Lord For God's people, Thanksgiving is far more than a special day on the calendar. The Bible urges us to live a life of thanksgiving each day. Being thankful to God for all of His blessings is truly a mark of the Christian. So let me give you four biblical ways to express your thanksgiving to the Lord at this wonderful season of the year. The base I want to build on is Psalm 100, a song of praise to God as our Creator, Sustainer and Redeemer. I see at least four ways that Psalm 100 instructs us to praise and worship God. Some may be a little scary to those who are not used to joyously expressing praise, but I encourage you not to be afraid! Don't Be Afraid to Shout Praise to the Lord. Don't Be Afraid to Serve the Lord with Gladness. Don't Be Afraid to Come into the Lord's Presence. Don't Be Afraid to Get to Know the Lord. He wants us to know that He is Jehovah God and we are not, that He is the Creator and we are His creatures and that we are His sheep and He is our Shepherd. The heart-longing of every godly person is to get to know God more intimately. Let's make it our determination to praise and worship God this holiday season! 5
