Deacon Rob s Corner Thoughts for June Did you know the sport of baseball has a lot to do with our spiritual journey? Baseball is like the game plan on our spiritual walk with the Lord. I have been in the Catholic League since the day of my Baptism oh so many years ago. JC, as I call Him, has always been my manager. He has given me the privilege of being a free agent, but I really prefer to have a notrade clause and stay in His league forever. When I was quite young He knew I needed help on my journey so He gave me other Sacraments or should I call them training camps along the way. JC knew I would make lots of errors, foul balls, and even strikeout many times, so He taught me about forgiveness and starting over. JC gave me and all the league members extra fuel, extra grace to keep developing into good Catholic team members. He gave us himself in the Eucharist and He continues today pouring Himself into all team members of the Catholic league as we approach His plate of sacrifice. Later in my life the Holy Spirit moved me up to the Minors in Confirmation. It seems JC showers down his gifts and graces and we in the league either walk or run the bases of life. Sometimes we score, sometimes we make big errors, sometimes we just walk slowly but every time we touch a base, get closer to home, or score we seem to glow with more of God s love and we pick up momentum for the journey ahead of us. I have been to a lot of different baseball camps in my life and have learned some very basic important truths to share with you: 1. Our manager loves us with unconditional love. 2. He knows we fail and is there to pick us up and dust us off. 3. We must constantly learn more on our journey and become more like our manager, JC. 4. We must keep reading His plan book to keep scoring for Him. 5. He loves it when we share the joy of our league with others. He says to all of us: Let your light shine & score one for JC! God Bless you All Deacon Rob
Welcome TECites of 332 D.O.G. Depend on God! Depend on God I remember back in September when Dcn. Rob asked me to be the March Leader for #332; at the time, six months seemed so far away. Now, as I look back on the whole experience, it is almost like a blur; it is hard to believe that T.E.C. #332 is over and in the books. I am overwhelmed with gratitude because I was blessed with wonderful people on both the Wheat Team and Presenting Team; and I was given 17 new puppies to join me on the weekend. Every time I think I have my head wrapped around how wonderful and awesome God is; He blesses me even more and I am blown away by His love and grace. T.E.C. #332 was just another experience of getting a deeper view and experience of the Awesome Wonder of our God! So So humbling! It was an honor to be the Lay Leader. As the Dog Pound went through the Paschal Mystery, we were blessed with wonderful meditations and prayerful moments of Grace! We were a lively Pack of Dogs and rumor has it, some Puppies stayed up late barking and playing with their mattresses, thank God we had plenty of good Dog Food and Red Eye to keep us going! Habib Gomez (aka Moses Praul) made sure that every one of the Dogs were focused and trained well! Habib was elected Rush Chairman for life! Thank you to everyone who made T.E.C. #332 the best T.E.C. ever!!!! All the Dogs will keep the tradition alive by Letting it Shine for all the world to see. I think we will see quite a few of this breed from the pack back in the Dog Pound regularly on Wed. night. If not, they know their DogFather will hunt them down and put them in the DogHouse. Peace! Tom Mueller AKA The DogFather

Asking Someone to go to TEC Do you remember that one TEC weekend that changed your whole relationship with God? Do you remember the feeling as you left on Monday... you were on fire and so ready to start recruiting everyone you ever knew to come to TEC and have a similar experience, right? Reality check: You then start talking to people and trying to get them to go on the next TEC weekend. Did you feel like you were trying to physically pull the mountain to Mohammed? They couldn t go this time, or they didn t think it was for them, even though they didn t know anything about TEC. We have all been there and we know it s sometimes difficult to get people to go to TEC. So here are a few tips for encouraging someone to take that first step...to SAY YES to GOD! First and foremost in all things PRAY!!! It is God who calls people to TEC. We are just the radio station he is using at the time. Listen to the person you are recruiting. They may have legitimate reasons for not making TEC, family commitments, work, and vacations. If you are really listening to them you will soon be able to determine the legitimate reasons vs. normal apprehension. Be persistent. If a person says, No, listen to their reasons. If it is apprehension, address their concerns in a kind and knowledgeable fashion. If they have a legitimate reason for not coming then make a note and invite them to attend when the next weekend comes around. You may have to invite someone 10 times, but as we all know persistence eventually pays off. Be prepared. The person you are recruiting may be apprehensive and give you a reason they can t come, such as I can t afford it. Try to know as much about the program as you can so you can help answer their questions. (i.e. TEC has scholarships! )
