The Middles Ages is a period characterised by the fragmentation of the Mediterranean Sea around the different civilizations: Christianity, Islam and the Byzantine Empire. Colour and locate these civilizations on the map and point some of their most important cities: Córdoba, Oviedo, Aachen, Rome, Constantinople, Damascus, Baghdad, Mecca 3. Describe in no less than 10 lines the most remarkable facts of the biography of the following characters: Muhammad; Charlemagne; Abd-al-Rahman III 4. Answer the following questions about the Germanic peoples: a) Where did they come from? b) Why did they move southwards from central Europe? c) Which were the main Germanic kingdoms? d) Who were the Visigoths?
