Mission Statement: St. Francis of Assisi Parish is a Christ-centered family of believers, celebrating Christ alive in our lives through the inspiration of the Gospel, church teachings and traditions and the Sacraments. We are sensitive to the spiritual and temporal needs of God s people, acknowledging their uniqueness and dignity and are dedicated to reaching out and serving them through prayer, liturgical celebrations and social ministries. Guided by the Holy Spirit and nourished by the Holy Eucharist, we welcome all people with, respect and compassion. We are vigilant in protecting the rights of the most vulnerable. In the tradition of our patron, St. Francis of Assisi, we put the good news of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ into action. Sister Marcie Purpura who has led dozens of pilgrimages there, will be our featured speaker. Sister has many stories to tell and motivates hearers to consider Medjugorje by her simple conviction and witness. Time, Talent & Treasure Fostering Stewardship as a way of life Thanks for Giving First Fruits & Taking a Step!!! (Regular Sunday Offertory) March 10th s weekly offering: $8,859.00 Last year s weekly offering:$9,102.00 As stewards of our Faith, we are all called to lead by example. Let others see that when the storms come, we anchor ourselves with trust in God. As St. Joseph is a model to us, so we need to be a model for others, especially our young people. Parents, show your children that your Faith means everything to you! Statistics show that children who grew up with Parents who attended Mass regularly were more likely to continue in their Faith than those who did not. Today, more than ever, our world needs strong parents who bravely model their Faith by complete trust in God. When handing on our Faith to our children, ask St. Joseph to intercede for you to help you become the role model God intended you to be! March 24: Third Sunday of Lent In today s Gospel Jesus is quite clear in his message: bear fruit or be cut down. This Lent we are called to cultivate and fertilize our spiritual lives through prayer, fasting and almsgiving. Through your almsgiving you are performing a good work; far greater than you think. Know that your nickel, dime or quarter is multiplied by the coins place by others in the St.Vincent de Paul Poor Box. Sunday s Readings for next week, March 31st: Joshua 5:9a, 10 12...The Lord said to Joshua: Today I have removed the reproach of Egypt from you. 2 Corinthians 5:17 21 So we are ambassadors for Christ, as if God were appealing through us. Luke 15:1 3, 11 32 [Jesus said,] Now we must celebrate and rejoice, because your brother was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found. Send us your email if you would like to start receiving Bringing Home the Word, a weekly message based on the Sunday Scripture readings.
