ANNOUNCEMENTS WEEK OF NOVEMBER 4, 2018 Healing Ministry - TODAY Care ministers are stationed at the rear of the sanctuary during Holy Communion today to offer a blessing to anyone who desires anointing and prayer for a health or personal concern. Blessings are available while seated in the pew for those with mobility concerns. Please let an usher know of your need. Blessings for healing are available during worship on the first Sunday and Monday of every month. Senior Adult Fellowship Genetics, Genomics & DNA Tuesday, November 6 at 11:00 am Come for a fascinating talk by Dr. Kimberly Jacoby Morris, doctoral fellow at National Institutes of Health. A brief overview of DNA structure and function will be followed by a discussion of how genetics and genomics affect bio-medicine today, including gene sequencing, cloning and editing. Lunch from Mamma Lucia's will be provided at no charge, courtesy of Above & Beyond donations to Senior Fellowship. To assist with planning, sign up at the Welcome Center or contact Jeanette Schuder (301-879- 5950) to RSVP by November 4. Thanksgiving Food Drive November 18-26 Thanksgiving is a time of special gratitude for God s many blessings. Share from your bounty this season! At worship services on November 18-19, November 25-26, and on Thanksgiving Eve we will be collecting non-perishables to help fill boxes for distribution by Lutheran Mission Society (LMS) to help needy families this Christmas. A list of food needed can be picked up at the Welcome Center.

CPR Training November 18 12:30-3:30 pm In an emergency, could you give CPR to someone in need? CPR is a basic skill that everyone should know. Recommended techniques have changed in recent years. Come for the first time or get a refresher. The cost of the course is only $35, thanks to a generous Thrivent Grant. Enrollment is limited to 8 people. Diabetes Self-Management Workshop Thursdays, November 1 December 13 10:30 am 1:00 pm, Wellspring Center, LL Join this 6-week workshop to improve your ability to manage your health and maintain an active and fulfilling life while living with Type 2 Diabetes or Pre- Diabetes. Stop by the table in the Commons following worship today to select one or more snowman ornaments from Linkages to Learning. Each one contains the name of a needy child in a nearby school along with his/her wish list of three holiday gifts of up to $25 each. All gifts must be brought to church no later than November 25-26. Help make Christmas merrier for these families who will feel Christ s love through our generous donations.
