The APRIM will share the role of faith religious leadership as a member of a team working closely, in particular, with the Faith Mission Leader. The APRIM is also accountable, through the Principal, to the school community, Catholic Education SA, the local wider Church community, in particular the Diocese of Port Pirie. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS The APRIM appointed to St Joseph s School will be/have: Active involvement in a Sunday Catholic Eucharistic community. A commitment to life-long life-wide growth as a leader in the Catholic Church, witnessing living out Catholic beliefs, rituals values in committed action. qualities that include: enthusiasm skills in leading a vision, setting goals planning strategies; high level of organisational, management communication skills; willingness to undertake other duties as required by the Principal. Teacher Registration (South Australia). Teacher Accreditation (Catholic Education SA). A Masters Degree in Catholic Studies (Religious Education, Theological Studies, Catholic or a related area) OR a comparable qualification in the religious domain such as a Bachelor of Theology. (Applicants may be in the process of completing such a qualification). At least 5 years of successful experience as a religious educator in a Catholic school. Screening clearance a police clearance to work in Catholic Education SA in accordance with current guidelines. Completion of Required Core Training programs prior to, or as soon as possible after appointment. Completion of an annual review five-yearly review in accordance with the requirements of the Professional Review Policy for Diocesan School Leaders (2004). SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILIITIES The APRIM plays a key role in supporting the religious leadership of the Principal the commitment of every member of staff to build support the Catholic ethos of the school. RE Curriculum The APRIM will provide guidance to teachers in their leadership of the RE curriculum will be supported in the area of the Made in the Image of God (MITIOG) program by the Faith Mission Leader. Other Duties Provide support to the Principal by assisting in other areas other duties as required. Compulsory travel to attendance at meetings, appropriate professional learning opportunities, organised for Religious Leaders in the Diocese of Port Pirie through the wider CESA network. Support of Staff The APRIM is responsible for the induction of teachers new to the Religion Education learning areas as well as supporting all Religious Education teachers in the school. This involves: familiarising teachers with resources in the school ways of using them; familiarising staff with new resources; keeping staff up to date with current theology; inviting speakers to present at staff meetings / learning area meetings organising staff professional development activities. Prayer Liturgy The APRIM is responsible for ensuring that prayer liturgy have a high profile in the life of the school community by: supporting staff in their preparation presentation of staff prayer; supporting Boarding House staff in the preparation presentation of prayer; providing each class teacher with an appropriate prayer resources; preparing liturgies with, for, the staff as required; providing appropriate commentary in the morning bulletin to highlight the liturgical calendar, feast days special celebrations events;
helping classes staff to prepare class Masses, class prayer liturgies providing resources guidance to teachers; working with teaching staff in the preparation of whole school liturgies Retreats support guide Retreat Teams in their preparation implementation of retreats for students in conjunction with, supported by, the Faith Mission Leader Sacramental Program working with the Faith Mission Leader to support guide class teachers in their work with staff, parents students involved in the Sacramental programs Liaison with Parish Priests The APRIM liaises with the Parish Priest(s) in regard to Masses retreats. Communication The APRIM needs to meet regularly with teachers, the Faith Mission Leader, the Principal, Deputy Principal the Assistant Principals of Learning Improvement Innovation to discuss the Religious Education program, staff professional development, liturgies, emerging issues possible future directions. Communicate regularly with the whole staff. Communicate regularly with parents. Plan the religious pages for the school newsletter magazine. OTHER CONDITIONS Participate in good character screening processes hold a current acceptable Police clearance. Act at all times in accordance with the CESA Code of Conduct. Hold current certification in Responding to Abuse Neglect in Education Care Settings. Participate in regular professional review processes.
