WELCOME TO REDEEMER! Whether you re a follower of Christ looking for a healthy church home or a skeptic invited by a friend, we are thankful that you ve joined us! At Redeemer, we are a church family that seeks to live together on Christ, our joy and hope, to the end that other mights treasure Him. This morning we will read, pray, sing, and preach God s Word to the end that God would receive glory and that the gospel would sink deeper into our hearts. As we gather, we intentionally shape the structure of our service to reflect the gospel in celebrating that God draws near to us, shows us grace, teaches us in His Word, and sends us into the world to make disciples. CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 95:1-7 Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker! For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. SONG OF PRAISE Every Praise Every praise is to our God; Every word of worship with one accord Every praise, every praise is to our God! Sing hallelujah to our God; Glory, hallelujah! is due our God Every praise, every praise is to our God! God my Savior, God my Healer, God my Deliverer, yes He is, yes He is!
CALL TO CONFESSION Exodus 33:18-23 Moses said, Please show me your glory. And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before you and will proclaim before you my name The Lord. And I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy. But, he said, you cannot see my face, for man shall not see me and live. And the Lord said, Behold, there is a place by me where you shall stand on the rock, and while my glory passes by I will put you in a cleft of the rock, and I will cover you with my hand until I have passed by. Then I will take away my hand, and you shall see my back, but my face shall not be seen. ASSURANCE OF PARDON John 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. SONGS OF ADORATION God Omniscient God All Knowing God omniscient, God all knowing, in His wisdom does ordain Every working of creation to the glory of His name Who His thoughts can dare to fathom, who His judgments can contain? None His equal, unassailable, He our God who ever reigns! God all keeping, omnipresent, in the passing days of man First to last, not one forgotten by His strong and steering hand He the Sovereign Lord now praise we, He the fount of Providence On His word we rest unwavering; yes, His perfect word shall stand! God omnipotent and mighty; inexhaustible His strength
Governments and fleeting powers melt before His majesty How unsearchable His greatness, how inscrutable His ways Sing His greatness and preeminence over all created things! God unchanging, ever-faithful, to His covenant of grace We His people Christ did ransom, to the glory of His name Now ascribe unending worship, now ascribe immortal praise To the God whose kingdom cometh, Blessed be His matchless name! His Mercy Is More What love could remember no wrongs we have done? Omniscient, all knowing, He counts not their sum Thrown into a sea without bottom or shore Our sins they are many, His mercy is more What patience would wait as we constantly roam What father, so tender, is calling us home He welcomes the weakest, the vilest, the poor Our sins they are many, His mercy is more What riches of kindness He lavished on us His blood was the payment, His life was the cost We stood 'neath a debt we could never afford Our sins they are many, His mercy is more Praise the Lord, His mercy is more! Stronger than darkness, new every morn ; Our sins they are many, His mercy is more! SONGS OF PREPARATION Heal Us, Emmanuel Heal us, Emmanuel, here we are We long to feel Thy touch Deep wounded souls, to Thee we fly; O, Savior, hear our cry!
Our faith is feeble, we confess; we faintly trust Thy word But will You pity us the less? Be that far from You Lord! Remember Him who once applied With trembling for relief Lord, I believe, with tears he cried; O help my unbelief! She, too, who touched you in the press and healing virtue stole Was answered, Daughter, go in peace; thy faith has made thee whole. Like her, with hopes and fears we come to touch You if we may; O send us not despairing home; Send none unhealed away! THE READING OF GOD S WORD Colossians 2:6-10 Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ. For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority. PRAYER & WORSHIP IN GIVING PREACHING OF GOD S WORD Speaking The Truth In Love (Eph. 4:15-16) Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.
I. Speaking the truth in love recognizes: A. We need correction B. We have the Word & the Spirit B.We are the means
II. EACH PART WORKING PROPERLY MEANS THAT WE... A. Identify evidence of grace, not just areas to correct B. Have a thick theology of sin and grace C. Are confident that the gospel can bring change D. Are read to stick close through the mess of life
REFLECTION AND PRAYER SONG OF RESPONSE Nothing But the Blood What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus; What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. Oh! precious is the flow That makes me white as snow; No other fount I know, Nothing but the blood of Jesus. Nothing can for sin atone, Nothing but the blood of Jesus; Naught of good that I have done, Nothing but the blood of Jesus This is all my hope and peace, Nothing but the blood of Jesus; This is all my righteousness, Nothing but the blood of Jesus THE LORD S SUPPER We celebrate the Lord's Supper weekly as a memorial and reminder of Christ s death on the cross for our salvation. We invite you to participate with us if you are a believer and member in good standing with a local church. SENDING
