RCMBC MIT Program The Minister-in-Training (MIT) program of Rocky Creek Missionary Baptist Church is designed to give the person who senses God s call on his or her life practical training and ministry experience. Students will be able to test their call while they develop their gifts and abilities to minister effectively. The Dean of MIT has developed a ministerial process designed for students to develop their particular area of calling or personal spiritual endeavor. This process is meticulously formulated to produce sound biblical theology and Christian doctrine to equip those called by God to handle the Word of truth rightly. The first stage of training is discovery, which is a process for students to discern God s call. Students will train and prepare for the work of congregational ministry. They will learn to identify God s specific calling on his/her life for the purpose of kingdom building. Reedy Fork/Rocky Creek Fairground Community Park 931 S. Garrison Rd, Simpsonville, SC (864) 293-1681 The Reedy Fork/Rocky Creek Fairground Community Park (RF/RC FCP) is steeped in cultural history. It was founded by a group of Black community members from the city of Greenville who came together to establish the Greenville County Colored Fair Association in 1920. In 1925, Black professionals formed an alliance, purchased 13.26 acres for the colored fairs, which is now the location for the RF/RC FCP. It was donated to Reedy Fork Baptist Church and Rocky Creek Baptist Church with the understanding the property would be used to enhance the communities of both churches. The historical site is a private/public park which continues to be developed as a family-friendly facility. Its grounds, including the pavilion can be rented for a variety of events on weekdays, weekends, daytime or nighttime. The park is dependent upon DONATIONS and the Park Committee needs your help to continue the growth of our RF/RC Family Community Park. You can purchase an engraved brick for $100 which will be placed in a prayer garden. For information on donations or to buy a brick, contact Alice Burton at (864) 787-9216 or Robert E Sweeney at (864) 293-1681. We have other opportunities to show your continued support.
