NEW SUNDAY BIBLE CLASSES Predestination - This is one of the more difficult and least understood teachings of the Christian Church. If God has predestined us to believe and go to heaven, does that mean others are predestined to hell? Does God decide in advance what each of us will go on any given day? Pastor Heining will lead this class in the South Fellowship Hall. Gospel of Matthew will continue with Pastor Settle in the North Fellowship Hall. Laugh Your Way To A Better Marriage will continue with Lynn Schoppers in the Choir Room/Room 203. FOLLOW THE DIABETES PREVENTION DIET There is no one superfood that can prevent diabetes. In fact, some researchers believe it s mostly eating too much and being overweight that increases your risk, rather than what you eat. However, some studies have linked certain foods to the development or prevention of Type 2 diabetes. Here are some ideas to help reduce your risk. Limit the intake of soft drinks and sugary fruit beverages. One study found regular sodas, drinks like Kool-Aid and fruit drinks, including fruit juices other than orange or grapefruit juice increased the risk for Type 2 diabetes in African-American women. Fresh fruits and veggies help keep your weight down by making you feel fuller on fewer calories. They contain healthy nutrients like vitamin C and magnesium that may ward off diabetes. Eat a variety for the biggest benefits. Avoid simple sugars and starches, like cookies, cakes, and white rice. Choose brown rice, whole wheat bread, and whole grain pasta at least half the time. (Olmsted Medical Center HealthNotes) Sharing Their Talents Today You are invited to come sing in the Spring choir! This group is a great opportunity to share your love for music with Redeemer without the long term commitment! You could even invite a friend!
