Harrington, SJ Scripture Lecture Presented by Angela Harkins, Ph.D. Sunday, March 31, 6:15 p.m., Parish Center Jesus Prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane Dr. Angela Harkins is an associate professor at the Boston College School of Theology and Ministry. She was born in Seoul, South Korea, and educated at Loyola University, Chicago and the University of Notre Dame, where she received her M.A. and a Ph.D. in Christianity and Judaism in Antiquity. Dr. Harkins has published extensively on the topic of prayers, emotions, and religious experience in early Jewish and Christian texts. She is currently working on a long- term project on religious experience and the early Christian text known as the Shepherd of Hermas. This lecture will look at the various Gospel accounts of Jesus prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane. Silent Film Night: Christus With Live Musical Accompaniment Friday, April 12, 7:00 p.m., St. Peter Church Music Director Patrick Valentino provides live accompaniment for Christus, a 1914 silent film, on St. Peter s historic 1861 Hook organ. Christus tells the story of Jesus life from the Annunciation to the Ascension, and is presented in color a task painstakingly completed by nuns in the 1920s, who hand-painted each of its 200,000 frames. This will be a memorable event! Do You Love to Sing? Join Our Family Choir for Lent 5 Third Sunday of Lent An exciting musical opportunity awaits you! For the Sundays of Lent we invite families who like to sing to join our Choir at the 9:00 a.m. Family Mass, beginning March 10. Everyone is welcome. No experience is needed, just a joy for singing.
