SUNDAY 2 ND OCTOBER 27th Sunday in Ordinary Time C: With prayer and thanksgiving we now make our petitions known to God the Father: That the Church will act as a mediator in finding solutions to problems affecting peace, social harmony, the defence of life, and human and civil rights. That those who govern will use their authority to secure freedom of religion. That our parishes will grow in faith, hope, and love through deeper devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and the holy rosary. For blessings on all husbands and wives, and that the Lord will strengthen marriages that are in trouble. For the children of divorce, that they may be protected and sustained by the love of God and the care of their wider families. For the grace this week to live by faith in every circumstance of life. C: Loving Father, let the peace of heaven that surpasses all understanding guard our hearts and minds. Through Christ our Lord.

SUNDAY 9 TH October 28th Sunday in Ordinary Time C: God the Father fills us with his kindness and makes us glad. We turn to him now and pray: That the Church may persevere with steadfast faith in confessing God's name. That all will work together against the increasing threats to the free exercise of conscience. That journalists, in carrying out their work, may always be motivated by respect for truth and a strong sense of ethics. For an end to terrorism, and for the protection of all those who serve in our country's armed forces. For those suffering from debilitating illness or chronic pain: that God will strengthen and uplift them. For the grace this week to live in a spirit of sincere and constant thankfulness. C: Loving Father, let your merciful work be seen by your servants. May we experience your gracious care. Through Christ our Lord.

SUNDAY 16 TH OCTOBER 29th Sunday in Ordinary Time C: The eyes of the Lord are upon those who hope for his kindness. Filled with confidence, we now ask the Father: That World Mission Day may renew within all Christian communities the joy of the Gospel and the responsibility to announce it. That churches, employers, and healthcare providers will be free from laws compelling them to compromise their ethical principles. That those engaged in the business world will work for the spread of solidarity. For an increase of vocations to the priesthood and to consecrated life. For children with special needs, their parents, and their families: that they will be given all the love and support they need. For the grace this week to improve our prayer life. C: Loving Father, let your mercy be upon us as we place our trust in you. Through Christ our Lord.

SUNDAY 23 RD OCTOBER 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time C: God is a Father to his people, consoling and guiding them. We entrust ourselves to his compassion and pray: That through the Church's announcement of the Gospel, God's Word may increase love and give full meaning to pain and suffering. That lawmakers will protect people from being forced to violate their convictions. That our parish communities will hold fast to our confession of faith and draw many to friendship with Jesus Christ. For those facing difficult decisions: that the Lord will stand by them and enlighten their minds and hearts. For the poor, the sick, the elderly, the grieving, the lonely, the hungry, the homeless, the addicted, and the unemployed: that the Lord will help them in his mercy. For the grace this week to live humbly with a healthy sense of sin. C: Loving Father, you have done great things for us; we are filled with joy. Keep us united with you in all things. Through Christ our Lord.

SUNDAY 30 TH OCTOBER 31st Sunday in Ordinary Time C: The Lord is gracious, merciful, and full of kindness. We confide our needs to the Father and pray: That, during this Year of Mercy, the Church will reach out to those who are wounded and in need of an attentive ear, forgiveness, and love. That God will direct the minds and hearts of those in public office for the good of all those they represent. For refugees and displaced persons: that they will be kept safe and be given new homes. That our parishes will reach out to others with a truly Gospel hospitality. For all those who lack meaning, purpose, or a good direction in life: that Jesus will draw close to them with his love and give them hope. For the grace this week to glorify the name of the Lord Jesus in all we say and do. C: Most merciful Father, you lift up all who are falling and raise up all who are bowed down. Come to our aid. Through Christ our Lord.
