St Mary s Church Old Town St Paul s Church Highfield SAINT MARY & SAINT PAUL HEMEL HEMPSTEAD Partners within the Hemel Hempstead Team Ministry 25th June Second Sunday After Trinity In today s gospel reading Jesus words do seem like a kind of threat or warning. Nothing can be hidden from God, who both cares and judges. He goes on to say that family does not come first, rather the family of faith does, and this can divide blood relations. It seems harsh, challenging even, yet we know it to be true. Families are divided, as indeed are nations. So this is not so much a threat as a prediction. RSCM Sunday by Sunday Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. Matthew 10, 34
