The Holy Qu rān Recitation Chapter 3: Āal `Imrān (Verses 104-106)
English Translation of Tilāwat Chapter 3: Āal `Imrān (Verses 104-106) Assalamu alaikum wa-rahmatullah, I seek refuge with Allah from Satan, the rejected. In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful. I will now present the English translation of verses 104 to 106 of Chapter 3, Sūrah Āal `Imrān [3:104] And hold fast, all together, by the rope of Allah and be not divided; and remember the favour of Allah which He bestowed upon you when you were enemies and He united your hearts in love, so that by His grace you became as brothers; and you were on the brink of a pit of fire and He saved you from it. Thus does Allah explain to you His commandments that you may be guided. [3:105] And let there be among you a body of men who should invite to goodness, and enjoin equity and forbid evil. And it is they who shall prosper. [3:106] And be not like those who became divided and who disagreed among themselves after clear proofs had come to them. And it is they for whom there shall be a great punishment,

English Translation By Hazrat Musleh Mau`ūd ra From the Book Kalām Mahmūd Assalamu alaikum wa-rahmatullah, I will now present the English translation of the couplets from a poem written by Hazrat Mirza Bashīr-ud-Dīn Mahmūd Ahmad, Musleh Mau`ūd ra. O young ones of the Jamā at, I have something to say but the condition is that my message should not be wasted I would like to give you some advices so that there is no blame on me afterwards When we will pass away, then, all of the responsibilities shall be on you Leave this laziness; do not seek comforts Know that service to religion is a blessing of Allah; do not ever seek (worldly) rewards in return for it When there is pain in the heart, tears gush forth from the eyes. The essence of Islam should be in you, not just its name Let there be no arrogance in your minds; let there be no signs of false pride in your eyes There should be no hatred in your hearts; any kind of abuse should never come to your lips O my dear ones, I pray for you that May Allāh s Help be with you and that you may never fail.
Hadith Now I will present a saying of the Holy Prophet, also known as Hadith, which is on the importance of working together. Our Holy Prophet Muhammad sa said: Faithful believers are to each other as the bricks of a wall, supporting and reinforcing each other. So saying, the Prophet Muhammad sa clasped his hands by interlocking his fingers. [Sahih al-bukhari]
The Bundle of Sticks - Story A father had three sons who were constantly fighting among themselves. When he failed to unite them, he decided to give them a practical example to show the importance of working together. He told his sons to bring him a bundle of sticks. When they had done so, he placed a bundle of sticks into the hands of each of them, and ordered them to break it in pieces. They tried with all their strength one by one, but they failed. He next opened the bundle of sticks, took the sticks separately, one by one, and again put them into his sons hands, upon which they broke them easily. He then addressed them in these words: My sons, if you are of one mind, and unite to assist each other, you will be as strong as this bundle of sticks, uninjured by all the attempts of your enemies, but if you are divided among yourselves, you will be broken as easily as these sticks. In the verses that were recited, Allāh asks to hold fast to the rope of Allāh and be not divided. By the grace of Allāh, we are united under Khalīfa and like the bundle of sticks in the story are part of Jamā at.
In Islam, Allāh gives us the gift of brotherhood and encourages us to stay united and work together as a team. Examples where Islām encourages team spirit are Congregational prayers and Hajj (Pilgrimage). As part of Atfālul Ahmadiyya you get the opportunity to develop brotherhood through Atfāl classes, Ijlās Ām, Ijtima, sports tournaments, Fajr Spirit and other local, regional, and national events. As the old saying goes, two heads are better than one. Teamwork is a basis of getting things done. Teamwork enhances the power of each individual person. In a team, everyone has their own roles. For example, a Nāzim Atfāl is responsible for conducting various activities for Atfāl. He does a much better job when he has a group of dedicated Atfāl working with him. For example, Saiqeen for makings calls to Atfāl, Secretary Ta līm making arrangments for Atfāl Classes, Secretary Khidmat Khalq running the food drive etc. Without a team of Atfāl, it would be very difficult for one Nazim to do well in all the areas. When doing duties on Jamā at events such as, Water duty at Jalsa Salāna, it may seem like a small thing, but overall it helps in making the Jalsa even more successful. When you provide water to the guests, they do not have to leave the Jalsa Gāh and can
continue to participate in the Jalsa proceedings without any interruptions. As Ahmadī youth, you need to realize that your actions help in making the Jamā at stronger only when you work together.
Du ā May Allāh guide us all to the right path and bless our efforts and InshAllāh allow us to follow all these points.
